Stuck on Main Story

For the main story quest "Find allies for resistance", I already recruit all 4 characters that I can find. Now, I cannot go anywhere besides where I have already been, and I cannot complete this quest.

You need to trigger a cut scene, I cant recall if its in the main town or the inn. Try speaking to everyone also. I found this quest also confusing but I eventually triggered the cut scene.

It's on the stairs in the middle of the main town (Eltisweiss) where you've to trigger a cutscene.

Some of the ”necessary flags" are not placed properly, or intuitively enough, and without alternatives.

I've recruited the woodcutter, farmer and the hunter/gatherer siblings and I have seen the inn cut scene. But I can't exit the region? Or get a new quest? I am pretty sure I talked to everybody but nothing triggers in the castle.

This is highly confusing. Anyone remember where they triggered the flag exactly?

You probably just need to recruit a couple more people.

Head to the fort looking place on the map Fort Xialuke to get back to the starting area. While there you should run into Yusuke a super op dude that's worth using early game.

In Altverden you can talk to a big blonde hunter dude to the South West he wants you to hunt 3 boars in Redthroat Ridge. Better to get this quest asap because you need to go to the ridge for another character.Also head to the North West on the map to meet your first main healer Francesca pretty much required early game for bosses.

In Eltisweiss Iugo is in a bar on the North East side of town. Head down the middle stairs in town and close towards the exit Mellore should show up saying she's headed to Redthroat Ridge go there and talk to her and run through the dungeon (to the end boss) along the way make sure you kill at least 3 boars and collect 5 regular eggs from the egg monsters for a later recruitment.

Once you completed Mellore's side quest and cleared the Abandonned Mine head to Werne Village and talk to the Old Lady just to the West of the entrance. She wants you to go find Yume at Redthroat Ridge, go there and walk towards the spot where you fought the boss and you'll run into her along the way.

You can also find three dudes in the Mine after you've cleared the story part in there and got your castle, a guy named Hiro semi hidden on one of the ledges in the spiral walkway area. A dwarf near one of the shortcuts that wants 10x ore and another Dwarf at the main entrance to the mine that wants a piece of armour you can find in a dig spot by the Dwarf Miner.

That should be enough to getcha going. :)

I'm stuck in the same place I think. After the battle for Eltisweiss. Gotta recruit 4 people apparently (game doesn't tell you this)
Got the hunter siblings, the chatty aunt and the lumberjack. Can't go anywhere else because the areas are still being "scouted"
No cutscenes in my castle. Can't go to any other maps. Just stuck.

You're missing the point of the post. The person is stuck and at this point in the game YOU CAN'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE. You get to the castle after the first battle, told to recruit people, there's only 4 people available and NO ACCESS TO ANY OTHER AREAS.

Yes there is... In your castle go to the Graveyard and jump into the Well on the East side, it takes you back into the Abandoned Mine.

You can use the opened shortcuts to get back to the starting maps while also recruiting 3 people in there Hiro, Ormond and Galdorf which I explained in my previous post. Once you use the mines to get back to the starting areas you can recruit more people.


I'm sorry you didn't have the patience to actually read my advice lol.

Are you stuck at the castle area map? If so, go into the cemetery on the 1st floor of your base and go to the well. That lets you go back through the mines and explore the Eltesweiss region again. That part wasn't as clear to me on how to go back as well.

Ok, here is what I think is going on.

I theorize there are different versions of the game on each console. Currently, I’m playing the PS5 version, but before that, I played the Switch version. I think they are both different when you’re trying to recruit your characters which I think the order to get them is different in each console. But I don’t know.

Anyway, once you get your castle, the game wants you to recruit new characters. The order of the characters is different for each gamer. After the recruitment, you’ll get a cutscene that all is going well, and then the game will take you to the new part of the main story with the character “Marisa.” So I’ll share my experience.

At the beginning of the game, before you get your castle, you should have these characters:

Nowa - (me)
Lian (my side chick)
Garr (wolf)
Mio (my mentor)

Now, after a while, the game will ask you to get more characters. I got 3:

Mellore (my anime gf) - from Eltisweiss when exiting town

Lugo (another swordsman) - from Eltisweiss in the middle of town, inside a bar.

Francesca (my gf) - from Werne Village, which is northwest of Eltisweiss.

Then, after the mine part, the game will give you Sabine (my sleepover girl), but then she will leave with Perrielle (my wife).

After that, and after the war, the game will give you these characters:

Ymir (big forehead)
Kogen (looks like a sushi cook)
Yuthus (always angry)
Zabi (lunatic)
Cassandra (my second mom)

Then the game will give you more characters for your castle. After that, you’ll have to find and recruit more. Get them, and a cutscene will happen. I got 12 characters.

First 4 characters:

Martha (Nowa’s nanny or something) - exit the castle building and go east of your castle land; you'll find her.

Kerrin (hulk's sister) - leave the castle area, go to the west side of the map. You find her inside the woods with her “lumber friends.”

Wyler & Marin (siblings or cats) - from south of the map, inside the woods. Help them out.

For the rest of the 8 characters, you’ll actually have to go back all the way to the beginning of the game, which is really confusing because you should do that at the end of the game. But you’ll be more surprised when you get there. Anyway, we will harass the developers after we finish the game.

Important - at this point, some people might already get the cutscene after getting these 4 characters. But if you didn’t, then that’s 2x on the developers again. But if you didn’t continue on:

Go to your castle and go inside your castle, where the graveyard and tombs are. There is a well, which is the entrance to the old mine you once went to. I kid you not, and you have to go all the back again to reach Eltisweiss. That’s 3x on the developers again. I mean, are they even gamers or played games before? I don’t know.

Inside the mine, 3 characters:

Ormond (missing from the Lord of the Ring movie) - just head back; you’ll see him. Help him with his stones. Note that he’s the one who broke that big rock, which will be the shortcut to your castle well. Some shortcut, I’d say. Leaving from Nowa’s room would’ve been shorter.

Hiro (the dude who thinks he’s a stick bug) - inside the mine, there is that part where when you see it from the map, you see a road like a train road or spirals if you’re high.

Galdrof (uses mail as drugs) - when you exit the mine south, you’ll see him. By the way, get all the rock items inside the mine for his mail.

After you exit the mine, you get 3 more characters from the first map:

Kuroto (kids' pervert) - get him in Altverden Village, west side. Help him with a boar thing from Redthroat Ridge east of the map.

Yume (baby) & that freak one-eyed bear! - go to Werne Village where you got my gf; once you enter the village, you’ll see an old lady on the left near the stairs. Talk to her, and she’ll tell you her granddaughter got lost. You’ll find her in Redthroat Ridge along with that freak.!

PS. You might want to do Kuroto and Yume quests together since both are at the same place. But if you didn’t, then that’s 4x on the developers.

If you're stuck at the part where you just get your castle, I got stuck there too, there's a bunch of things you need to do, I watched a youtube video on it. I'll see if I can find it.

I am glad developers dont give a fck about their players and make quests so vague they have no other choice than to go look for guide or a video. Some effort into your game pls.

This mechanic is a staple for Suikoden. Complaining about it is fine, but it's pretty clear this is a Suikoden successor. I was personally happy to have this part of the game. It's one of the few things that reminded me of Suikoden and 90s gaming.

Also, there's usually a character someone can't find and then later on they hear about how their's some new character you can get this early in the game. It makes it interesting to play through again.
