why is there no pre-download for those who have purchased the deluxe edition and who have 48 hours early access?

I don't think Steam has that built-in yet. As far as I know pre-download only works for "official" release for every version. I mean it might be feasible for specific versions too.

In all honesty it's a fairly small game all things considered in terms of file size. I can empathize my PC has big issues installing games fast, despite having a fast connection, but it still should stay reasonable.

I saw a tweet where a Spaniard posted a screen of the game being downloaded. For that I wondered how he did it. Knowing that on Xbox Game Pass the game has a pre-download.

I was about to make a post to ask same thing, will they give pre-download or not. But you beat me to it. We still have 23 more hours before early access, let's just hope they will allow pre-download a few hours later.

They might be Kickstarter person? Kickstater people have 72 hours early access.

That's not correct. Steam allows preload. They already have a build they can preload and update later if needed.

This game released worldwide, and in some place around the world doesn't have a fast internet. For myself, those 25GB could took 4-5 hours. Its not "only" for some of us, so pre-load would be really helpful.

sadly only steam can change that policy, people have been complaining ever since the beginning but it seems steam does not intent to change this anytime soon

The game'store page said it require 30 gb, doesn't that meet Steam policy?

Ohhh, my mistake. I thought you were saying the 25GB was the game size, you claimed it as "only" and judging people who asked for pre-load, not about the Steam pre-load requirement.

It's 18 after installation. The download is 25-30 as far as the official Q&A says.

im downloading 17.9GB now, and afaik it is the size of the download, not the size that takes up your storage that counts to that policy

No preload at all it seems. Luckily the game is not that big, but still a bummer. Got crappy internet so probably wont be able to play on Tuesday at all.
