How do you win at Begoima?
I have the starter top (wind) and two 2 star monster drops. Just got my castle and I can't win a single fight. I use the tops power every chance I can and still lose with enemy tops still at 50%+ hps. I don't get how you are suppose to win. The first tutorial fight was easy, every other fight mudstomps me. Does your character level matter? Im level 35 (used the guard in forest to get high quality mobs to fight).

Don't bother trying to win with starter tops. You really just need to get more tops to drop from enemies and that will ease you in and make it way more feasible to win.

That said, you probably could win if you get good at forcing "battles" (time your ability at the exact same time as the opponent uses theirs, and then win the mashing battle). That is how you win matchups that you don't really have any right to win.

But for most people, you are better off ignoring beigoma at the start of the game, until you acquire better drops from random encounters as you progress through the game.

Depends on where you're at in the game. If you can enter the final area of Dappled Forest you can get a 3 star that's decent for awhile.

And, no, your character levels dont matter at all. The stats, buffs/debuffs, and elemental affinity of the top are the main thing that matter, and your skill at initiating battles is the only thing that can "override" them to an extent.

Purely because of this mini game... I rushed the main story in my first playthrough largely ignoring literally everything... and now I'm just playing through on NG+ to try to do a "complete" run.

Yeah, that mini-game opens way too early. It's almost cruel they even pretend you can win a a match with the 1* tops.

Beigoma questline is tied to beigoma stats and you need at least 2 legendary to finish the entire questline. Proceed main story until you get 2 legendary beigoma- pawn demon from proving ground, seed emperor from dappled forest (excellent lacquer spawn area). This is best done after you finish ice cavern.

You know you are ready to finish entire beigoma recruitment when you get the super lucky accessory. Equip that and lucky accessory to farm pawn demon for his beigoma.
You only need 2 legendary to finish it since those 2 will win 2/3 fights.
3rd beigoma, you replace with whichever you won from opponent.

After you finish the entire questline, defeat Dr Corque in final dungeon using seed emperor/ pawn demon/ your 1st rainbow beigoma from the previous opponent.
Replace 3rd beigoma with Dr Corque's rainbow Beigoma and challenge Reid with seed emperor/ 2 rainbow. After defeating Reid, you will have 3 rainbow beigoma needed to win every fight.

There's 2 ways to win against rainbow beigoma using legendary-
1) spam the boost attack at the same time as opponent. If enemy boost gauge is faster, you conserve and spam it the next boost gauge is used on you. This will trigger button mash, you will do boost gauge damage as long you win the button mash.
2) Or you win simply by base stat to out DPS and just spam boost attack when gauge is full

Stats got weakness too. Like...

Tank > DPS > Magic > Tank

For elements...
The six types of magic are Water, Fire, Wind, Earth, Light and Dark. Water beats Fire, Fire beats Wind, Wind beats Earth, and Earth beats Water. Meanwhile, Light and Dark are both effective against each other.

https://www.thegamer.com/eiyuden-chronicle-hundred-heroes-stats-attributes-explained/

Then you have grade and buffs adding to the mix.

Man... I have spent literally six hours, probably actually more just trying to win a beigoma duel with ANYONE I could find. I'm so bummed to see that simply waiting for enemies to drop better tops is the answer. Like, it gives you this mini game, the tutorial tells you just go find people to play against. Nothing anywhere says tops are an enemy drop, never mind having the thought that fighting monsters for a drop is what's going to push this forward. That straight sucks. I love Eiyuden Chronicle so far, and I'm happy it exists, but that's a serious balance error. Kinda ruins the intro to a fun part of the game.

I know this is already mentioned in a few guides, but the area you go to when recruiting Dijkstra drops a few A & B rank golds.

It's the big dragon enemies. Bring Dr Corque as support and it won't take much grinding to get some

Hmm i'm gonna say to me it felt as if the progression was somewhat off. In that the ramp up from low rating to high rating went very quick, then stagnated at silver ratings while the quest line itself jumped ahead in difficulty.
Then again, i expect such from japanese games to a degree with side content.

Nah he's useless on his own. You need the super lucky badge too.

Yeah the balance sucks, but so does everything about Begoima tbh

Ah ok. I have it equipped as standard so I didn't know.
Frozen Dervish May 15, 2024 @ 11:22am
Bear Rider/Gigas Fist or Cheetila/Pawn Demon can carry you up to Wind Sentinel pretty easily. Then it's either mashing or waiting for other counter tops. Always clash. Clashing brings victory. If you just boost whenever it's up prepare to lose often.

Yeah I had taken it off since I needed the monster attract item for cockatrice hatchlings for the monster they summon. Turns out I didn't even get the beigoma they drop and it was the only one I was missing.
