Missable characters?

The only characters being listed as possibly missable from what I have seen around was a character that was bugged and has been potentially fixed, and one other that only seems to be in an area around a certain point in the game. Not sure if the latter one is recruitable elsewhere or moves or anything though.

Technically quite a few but not really in the same way suikoden games had where you couldn't go back to certain places due to plot or characters dying/leaving places.

there are some that you will miss if don't back track to villages after certain parts of the story. there are some that only unlock when you recruit curtain characters. For example you can only get Yume if you have completed Mellore's recruitment quest.

As far as 'can you at some point in the game not get a character ever', I know of two.

-One where you need every other character by the time they would join.
-One where a cutscene doesn't trigger if after the above point in time you haven't seen it, so you can't get the character related to that cutscene. This may be a bug, nothing's been said by the devs about it that I know.
-As far as I know you can still get all others you haven't gotten even right up to the last save point.

The well known missable character bug as supposedly been fixed, on the other hand.

Is there any way to pick up Mellore and Yume AFTER the Galdeans attack Eltiwiess? I evidently missed her and now neither Yume nor the boss in Redthroat Ridge will spawn. ;(

There's at least one missable item too. A very pointless one, but it exists.

If you go back to the spot where you beat Kogen directly before castle is built, there's a rune at the NE corner.

And this NPC is not present anymore, because I didn't interact with him.

All runes are not unique. You either buy them from castle lv3 or farm endless mode to get more.

Naw, the item I'm talking about is Harlan's Underwear which you apparently can't get if you trigger the cutscene at the end of Old Town and it doesn't do anything, is just a key item.
