It's the perfect ♥♥♥♥ storm.
My post wasn't hard to understand. Try again, but fire up that burned potato chip between your ears.
These people are activists with a political agenda, but unlike the SJWs that criticized gender dynamics in gaming years ago, these guys conceal their agenda by constantly claiming that they are anti-political. They do this because their agenda continuously fails to gain traction, and over time they have been spiraling very loudly into obscurity and despair, finding more and more minute things to complain about that seem ever more comical and absurd to people with normal brains.
So far every line I've seen criticized as "political" is such a stretch that it calls more into question the critic's reading comprehension than the localizer's politics. It's also very funny when people say "so far there have been more than a dozen changes to the script found" when this game probably contains as much text as a novel.
It's worth noting that, while their presence on the discussion forums appears to be strong, they will absolutely get bored and move on once they've been overtaken by people actually discussing the game they've been playing. We're on day two and it's already happening. The best thing you can do is disengage from them and enjoy the game.
But yea, also, obviously people are going to move on. That also doesn't mean the complaints are invalid.
Right?
These people dont even speak japanese or read it. Also, the concept that someone would go seek out the ORIGINAL dialogue script, just to read it before playing to make sure the...translation is perfect...is beyond weird and totally absurd
Doesnt anyone have school or a job lol. How are they focusing on that
facts. and hey Im the first one to roll my eyes if someone is cancelled for no reason, or if someone is unjustly creating drama over being offended, but these localization haters are reallllllly stretching it with the political thing
The complaints are invalid when they are absurd yes
I dont like woke narrative at all and this game isnt even that guilty of this
Not trying to sound elitists, but I did pick up a thing or two... because I know something about voice acting and sound design.
One thing I did notice is that from the 'younger' counter parts the voice actors did seem to go overboard when to over-acting their voices (compared to other material). Just being realistic on the matter, not trying to critisise is, But it shows, once you try to push your vocal chords in that direction, just to get that beat...
My ears can tell, it is an act.
And by that I mean, it disconnects with me. And sure, this can be a direction. To just add, I love most of the direction where this game is going for (I mean, with all the internet stuff going on, I have to defend myself all the time now),
But like I said, this a direction 'they' went for, and it doesn't resonate with me from time to time.
Just as a reference, Liam or Mellone (that magician you get early in the game I forgot her name to be honest). These are the first two voices I could think about... If I had a dozen of concrete, I would drop you in a big hole, and sink her... Not that I would really do that, but I think you get the point.
But that is partially the issue with this. It is a part of personal taste.
what you like, and what you don't.
I am enjoying the game, there are just some hickups on the road. If this will be fixes, only time will tell.
