0 steam level, private, you people need something better to do.
Nexus has it up.
What if i told you you are just referring to the mods our best community members felt forced to make to fan-fix the English localisation subtitle, it's our very own Lynn's you are referring to
Customers should not be forced to fix the errors of 'professionals'.
If Brian Gray openly states he didn't have time to check all of the localisation, as the lead localiser themselves, then they should take accountability and fix the script themselves now that they are aware of the issues in the version they allowed to go to release
The entire localization process, beyond the English version Brian Gray worked on, is fundamentally flawed.
As mentioned in other posts, the German version borders on an unsupervised machine translation based on the English version, even copying texts that, due to the nature of the German language (non-gendered Vs gendered language) make no sense grammatically.
I hate Brian Gray's work, but singling him out also isn't entirely right.
Yes, his work formed the base of the discussed issues.
But the publisher, 505 Games, isn't blameless. Everything beyond the English version is in a state that should not be sold for 50+ bucks.
It is abundandly clear that they cut corners wherever they could and that there was next to no QA involved in the process.
That's why i've been arguing that this is a fundamentally bad localization. The issues run much deeper than Gray's dumb fluff texts.
Translation: "People are only allowed to complain about something I agree with.
let us do what we need to do, even fi the localization doesnt change officialy we can discuss fan patches theres no need to come to his defense on his garbage translations. go play your farthead and chud game since its so good and let the adults talk please.
Why have you made 4+ steam accounts just to argue with people over this topic SinsOfHistory??
and what are you offering?
Honestly I bet some blame also falls on R+B. The game got delayed so many times it's not surprising the localization ended up a rush job just to get it out the door. Their budget was probably getting stretched.
Ok ♥♥♥♥ wit, when i change it to what i want with mods............
Why do THOSE people ban the mod?
well hopefully this will teach people not to fall for nostalgiabait kickstarters from washed up japanese devs, i hate to say it japanese devs but all of the kickstarters have been nightmares aside from bloodstained and even that is just now getting its kickstarter stretch goals finally delivered this week and downgraded its art style significantly from what was promised.
mighty no 9 - flop.
red ash, ???
shenmue 3 - scam
bloodstained - significant downgrade.
eiyuden - butchered localization on a game that is just ok anyways
penny blood - total $cam
armed fantasia - see above
ratatan - ive heard nothing and that can't be a good sign
I fail to see how Shen Mue 3 was a scam. It being bad doesn't make it a scam. It's closer to Mighty No. 9.
Armed Fantasia seems to be moving along fine. Not sure why you think it's a scam. As for Penny Blood? That reamins to be seen but again, I doubt it's a 'scam'.
