I'm Just So Sick And Tired Of The BS
I'm more than a little irked and disappointed in how the translation was handled for Eiyuden Chronicles. I have this game sitting in my Steam library, but can't bring myself to load it up. Not after seeing the changes made with the English localization. Initially, all I wanted was just to spend some time today on a title that I help funded on Kickstarter. It feels too often activists have been coming into this hobby, telling me and other players how problematic character designs are; for the crime of being too sexy, too white, or some white adjacent nonsense. Meandering how long standing lore needs to be changed, as to be more accommodating. Placing apology footnotes and trigger warnings at title screens. Pushing agendas that fit the modern operandis for virtue signalling and self-pompous righteousness. The more you hear about these propaganda peddlers, the faster it is to understand they're a bunch of hypocritical, A-holes looking for undeserved praise. They'll champion one character design just before trouncing on another, for the sake of not meeting their ever changing criteria. Total disdain for the works of others, but they expect accolades for the alterations they bring, to same works. I just wanted to play EC: Hundred Heroes, but F this. I'm done for this evening...

So does it have a working Hard Mode or not?

The unease you feel comes from within. The intent of 'trigger warnings' and other 'agendas' is meant to help and uplift others; it does not exist to offend you. Take control of yourself, and these anxieties will melt away.

From what I've read yes! But can lead to your party getting destroyed from a single miss step!

So your saying there was a political (or otherwise) influence in this game and it attempted to "uplift" others? Who specifically was it meant to "uplift" ?. Wouldn't have to do with the localisation changes would it?

Too late. Game is infected. But since you already have it in your library you can play it when the inevitable retranslation mod drops.

It does have a working hard mode. There are also some toggles that you can select when starting a new game to add limitation like no gold drop from enemies, double MP and SP cost, and increase cost of items in shop.

I'm four hours in and I haven't seen any problems with the dialogue. There are games were DEI is a problem... but I haven't been able to figure out why people are up in arms over this game.

Why don't you just try the game for yourself instead of sheepishly doing what others do? Who knows, making your own decisions might actually improve your life.

People are sensitive snowflakes, that's all there is to it. They see "Rub a dub dub" and lose their minds.

Is "snowflake" a recent woke newspeak word for regular people with standards who research before buying?

Snowflake was the word used to describe the people who pushed DEI... now those people use it against people who want it gone... With that context, we can ignore their use of snowflakes as disingenuous trolling.

Conservatives = Chuds
Liberals = Snowflakes

Let's get this right people. There is nothing that engenders rage in me more than people haphazardly mixing up political slurs.

That's great news!

For what it's worth the first time I ever saw the word "woke" used to describe people was on the mmochampion forums years ago targeting people on the right. Then later when I saw it used by the outside public it was targeting the left. I always thought the term was a reference to the matrix and never really knew who it was "supposed" to apply to.
