As Bishop's suggesting, you get the script and it unlocks a new blueprint at the blueprint table in your castle. You have to 'build' the new play. I suspect the idea is that you've got the script and now you've got to build the set and all that.
This, you have to up the theater to use the scripts.
HQ needs to be lvl 4
Put a dash ring on, put in the support character Aire, save at Arindale Inn. Run down to the item shop. If it has the script, buy it. If it doesn't have the script, load your save and repeat.
If you have checked recently, just make sure you've waited 30 minutes before doing your Inn save.
I'm not sure if 30 minutes is the time it resets, but that's a safe bet.
this is somewhat related, but unrelated at the same time. (Not with Key items anyways.)
I had a bunch of resources that the HQ refused to take, and I didn't understand why.
When I went to sell off the resources. I learned there was a cap on how much of each resource can be deposited into HQ
It has nothing to do with key items issue, but is similar in the context that items were not being withdrawn from inventory for some reason and I couldn't figure out why at first.
so if going to your HQ isnt depositing your resource items (not key items) for some reason,
Now you know why. Even if your depot isnt full , you still cant have more than a certain amount of each resource in the depot.
