Wheel-Eye Bream (Reflexes too Slow)

I'm fishing in the right location but when the (!) appears over my head and registers in my awareness, no matter how fast I push the button, it's already too late to reel it in. How is it even possible to catch the Wheel-Eye Bream necessary to complete the fisherman's quest? I'm not a reflexes-oriented gamer (especially at 46), which is why I play RPG style games to begin with, so if this is just a speed thing I'm basically screwed.

Yep, if you can't play video games, you can't play video games. Sorry. There are a lot of things we age out of in life.

If you can't manage the reflexes on this, then that's it unfortunately. There's nothing that makes it better yet. Maybe a mod in the future?

I reckon you could still do it.
If your visual cue is off (as in, you don't react to the exclamation mark fast enough), maybe you could try using another "aide"?
Be it an audio cue, a visual cue of the "floating lure thingy" sinking in and the water making a big splash...
I mean no disrespect by that, I'm trying to help!
Hell, I'm colourblind and I didn't even know there was an exclamation mark! I personnally use the sound of the floater sinking in!

I don't want to think you can be "locked out" of playing games, you just haven't found your "thing" to catch onto and overcome the "faster paced" mechanics, I'd say you can do it!

The timing isn't extremely unforgiving, it's probably not just a matter of slow reflexes. Might there be some other issue causing you to instantly fail? Maybe try using a different controller or the keyboard. Also if you're playing on a TV make sure gaming mode is enabled, otherwise your display will be adding extra lag.

This is why I appreciate games that eventually loosen the mechanics. FF VII Remake did this.

I actually had to cheat with a trainer that allowed me to get the Hero rod. That rod increases the window to reel in fishes.

I made a mistake in recording, but if you check this video and start at around 1:25, a few seconds later you'll see the problem I'm having. The (!) appears after the fish is already gone.

Thank you. I'll go do that now. I was fishing inside of Seaside Caverns, not outside of it. Now that I know where to go, it turns out that I'm still too slow to catch this. Hours of this BS with nothing to show for it truly sucks.

No its the fishing spot right outside the Seaside Caverns
it is where I caught it, I watch the shadows, and as soon as I see one get close I watch for ! above head.

Also, make sure your Hz is around 60 to 75 refresh rate, anything above tends to mess with the game

I'm at 120 and my system won't provide the option to change it... Eh, I created a custom profile with lower refresh and set it to 60, so maybe this will be the magic ticket that allows me to continue playing. What total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
