Auto Battles: A little boring

I was waiting for this game for the longest time I feel. Even did a Rising play through to prepare, but man, I'm pretty bummed out. These Auto battles are really kinda boring. I'm in the abandoned mine atm, on Hard difficulty mind you and I just press Auto every time. There's no Benefit to slugging through 6 character menus. Hopefully stuff gets more interesting later... or I fear I may have trouble finishing this.

I guess... Why'd you get the game if you don't like the combat? Even from the beginning one screen frame they used for the kickstarter it was obvious what this was going to be.

The last Suikoden game was a LONG time ago, and remembering I and !! which this seems to imitate, I remember it being far less of an issue because battles went a lot faster. I remember nearly all characters going in to attack at the same time, in that way it was cool to look at. Here they SLOWLY go one by one. The combat is very unfun imo as some battles that have like 6 enemies in them just take waaayyy toooo loooong with how slow combat runs.

The group attacking all at once was in Suikoden 2. Suikoden 1 was slower than this unless you count some of the boss fights.

I can't recall encountering many groups with 6 enemies in them. Are you playing this game?
