I brought a locator from Carnival, but it's gone.
Would it be somewhere else?

Story spoiler.
This is a collectible item located in the Carnival area on the Expedition map. To access it, you need a Level 3 Watchtower and a quest from Prospero after reaching the first level of relationship with all NPCs. Isn't it in your library? If it is, you need to complete what Prospero asks for before you can turn it in (explore the cluttered part of the roof).

The quest auto-started, when I continued a save game from before the 1.0 update. So I have the quest saying "give the locator to prospero" and the locator is in the library, but prospero doesn't have any option to give it to him.

I can't speak for the OP, but I did all that, and PICKED UP THE ITEM at the location. It's nowhere to be found once I was sent back.

I figured the issue is the actual physical item is missing?

Before transferring the NPC Prospero locator, you must locate NPC Barbara and raise your relationship level with her by 1 point.

If anyone feels that Locator is missing, please check the Tab Menu under Library > Narrative Items, marked with a Rocket icon, just to be sure.

I had that issue too. It feels confusing that the mission tracker doesn't tick a box that we've actually completed collecting it. Right now I'm at the "improve relations with ..." part and haven't done that yet, but this bit feels confusing.

I've already done that.

To be clear, I have:


- Found Barbara
- Have increased my relationship with her a few times (she's just given me the transporter blueprint)
- Have found the locator in the carnival and it's in my journal
- I cannot give the locator to Prospero as the game directs me to.

This definitely looks like a bug that we need to investigate, and most importantly, try to help you overcome the blocker. For that, we will need your game save files.

Is the instruction on how to share your save file with us clear? I can answer any additional questions to help with this if needed.

The instructions are fine, but I don't use cloud services. I am sure someone else will have it to give that to you. I'll just work on collecting resources for now since much is needed with the new stuff. I don't need to progress the story IMMEDIATELY.

EDIT: You need to just talk to him, not give anything to him. That was the confusion.

I cannot give the locator to NPC too, it is in my library but who should I give it to?
