Resource printer requires 4 units of power?

I have connected the resource printer to a generator and started it. But the printer will not work. Plase help, I cant get this metal frame to move on XD

What caught me out with the printer first time was that to make the frames you need to drag and drop the pipes into the box below the frames otherwise hitting create does nothing.

Power 4 seems to be how much it pulls from the system while running.

You do need to give the printer some raw materials to work with, yes. It cannot make something from nothing.

You may want to keep an eye on it as collector bots will happily hide the products in a storage box.

I've also run into a problem where they keep stopping midway through a cycle when power is flowing, even with a dedicated generator.

That seems to be a bug with the printer at the moment that I'm not sure what exactly triggers it. Might be refuelling the bioreactor. But yes, it does stop every now and then, so keep an eye on it and restart it if you see it not advancing the time.

Same, seems to be whenever I'm refueling power stuff and occasionally when robots refuel.

That was my thought at first but with a dedicated generator only the printer is drawing from it still happens.

Other triggers seem to be transitioning from the main area down to the fishing spot or using the drone for an expedition.

Perhaps someone has this problem: I've managed to get the printer to work, I put metal pipes in it, and... no metal frames. Not on the ground, not in the inventory, I don't have a minion robot (because I need metal frames to build the charger), so... any help?

They come out the left side on the rack or whatever it is. If you haven't noticed the timer yet, it takes a while.

Also as someone else has pointed out, if you have a storage bot running they will grab it and put it in a random chest. So maybe check your chests.

you can allocate certain chests to bots. so maybe do that and keep a track of them. it got me too at first till i saw it carrying foam.

Bot's battery is dead so not that. I am having the same issue. Frames not outputting after production 3:30 ticks down. Dead in the water.

Yesssss, thanks for the drag and drop the pipes in the printer, I thought the issue was that one generator put out 1 unit of power, so had enough parts to upgrade one to level 2 and created two more biomass generators because I saw the lighting bolt on the screen saying needed 4 power. So I'm building three contact power poles and though the current was flowing back to the second generator because of the animation of the lights. Should have know better, I used to trouble shoot Token Ring networks.

I blame Google, so used to looking up the answers that my problem solving skills aren't what they were back in Zork, Police Quest, or even Leisure Suit Larry.
