Fresh water bottle

I can make a bucket of fresh water, but not sure how to make the fresh bottle water. What are the steps? I have the salt water bottle... But that's where I'm stuck. Thank you!

Same way you do bucket. In fireplace there is recipe to convert seawater bottle to freshwater

Make empty bottle in the workstation and use that to fetch water instead of the bucket.

Freshwater doesn't count as a drink, gotta add coal to make it a drink. Before that, it's a resource. Also, reminder: Before you add the coal, you will get the bottle back if you use it. After that, you won't. So don't make tons of it, just enough for where you need it for other recipes. At least until you have a reliable source of plastic for new bottles.

I can't figure out how to make the salt water bottle. I can't use a plastic bottle on the ocean. How do you do it?

empty bottle, then at a pump or the ocean. there is no other way.

Once you have the Empty Plastic Bottle, you either go down to the Ocean or to a Pump. Then click in the same spot where you filled the Bucket, but select the Empty Bottle Icon instead. That gives you Salt Water Bottle. Take that to the cooking area, add a Plank, and look through the complete list. One of the options will be to create a Fresh Water Bottle. That is NOT drinkable water, though. There's another option which requires Fresh Water Bottle and a piece of Coal. That'll allow you to make Drinking Water Bottle.

It's a quirk of the game because you can hold the bucket and use it that way to interact with the sea, fire and plants as you would in other games but the bottles can't be equipped so it doesn't work quite the same way.

The sea has a interaction menu, though. Use the bottle through there.
