Bookworm Bug

I'm stuck on a conversation with him about the shadow. Every time I go on an expedition, the choice of the line is reset and I have to choose again. I tried not going on expeditions for several days - there is still no answer from him.

Dang, i have the same issue. I was hoping i would find a fix.

so I had the same bug and figured out a solution last night to wrap up my achievements. I managed to get Bookworm to respond to my responses, but you cannot 1) turn off the game 2) go on an expedition, as doing either resets your responses. I answered his question, set up a bed right next to the Smart Tower and slept through approximately 13 days straight and got the responses I needed.

ALSO - I don't know if this is connected, but I also called bookworm on the phone using number7802 and that may have helped.

I just got final location after few days ingame, but the cheevo didn't trigger, and the bookworm last message disappeared...
I think we have to wait for some fix...

Yes, the 10-day sleep helped, the conversation continued. But the next choice of the line is buggy and resets the same way.

I'll improve the base a little and go into hibernation again.

I had the same issue, but eventually got it completed. I thought the issue was if you picked the wrong response it would reset and you would have to select again. I eventually kept choosing different answers and one of the responses would eventually work. Not sure if doing other things might interrupt the conversation as I did sleep for basically the whole conversation.

I tried all the replies but its still bugged... Its on the bottom of the messages list ("day xy") and not on the top but the notification for new messages is still on.

It doesn't matter that the new message is on the bottom of the list, the important bit is that the red circle appears that the quest has been updated.

I just got the achievement this way courtesy of a method a player posted on their discord:

"siramos — yesterday 22:43
A friend informed me that he finished the story line. There are two bugs as he knows:
* if you start en expedition, the story line of Bookworm resets
* If you close the game, the storys line resets.
He got the achivement today. He cooked a lot of food, the placed the life pod near the smart tower and he slept the whole day.
After about 30 days he finished the storyline."

So basically, get a ton of food in the inventory, sleep for X days and only wake up to reply to the messages in the tower. Don't start expeditions, since apparently the expeditions screen resets progress for Bookworm's quest.

Hope they'll get this one fixed as well but two players wrote that this method worked for them and I just used the same method myself to get the achievement.

After I visited the area that Bookworm unlocked, the quest's lists of messages went back to message no. 4 instead of no. 5 so it is clearly still bugged. But it is possible to get the achievement anyway.

Worked for me to progress quest and get the spot unlocked on the map. Wasn't enough for me to get the odysessus achievement but I think that's on me to figure out.
