Even without farming there is enough wild vegetables to forage to keep yourself fed, plus you can go fishing. "Combat" in this game is equipping a pesticide spray and spraying plants and worms. The rest of the game is resource acquisition and management. There is no time limit. Overall it's a fairly cozy game.
I highly recommend it, its a very chill game.
And that's the main reason why you spent many hours to complete simple tasks.
Upgrading your storage to be able to connect to others is Mandatory.
For me, grindy is not a problem on this game. I don't even need to cheat or use console command for that matter (if it has one).
But I do notice one thing, after I've upgraded the storage to network functionality, the game is running a bit sluggish and finally crashed. I had to reboot my computer.
Not sure why.
--Backup your save game just in case.
My CPU: i5-12th gen, 64GB RAM, Win10-Pro.
Back to the main question: I'd say it is pretty cozy, but also somewhat grindy.
Even in the highest difficulty - which is actually the default and not hard at all - the worm enemies cannot damage you, only your structures. The game never throws surprise "attacks" at you. Stand in any place but where the poisonous plants grow for as long as you want, and the only thing that will hurt you is hunger.
The closest thing this game gets to becoming stressful is when you are either low on health or high on hunger - and both these situations are absolutely manageable.
There is an achievement for getting to the mid-way point of the game without "passing out" from no more health - and you really have to actively screw up to miss that achievement.
And, of course, the general tone, art style and music help a lot with the coziness.
The worms cause -3 damage per tick that you are holding them. Other than that they're pretty harmless.
One more question: does the "coziness" setting influence achievements? Or can I still earn them all regardless of that?
Thanks, I love that.
