Minion Problems

So i started a new game with the update and built my first minion, which i have collecting stuff. sadly it has some new issues.
It keeps picking stuff up, getting part way to storage then throwing it on the ground and getting another item. about 1 of 3 items actually make it to storage. it's doing it in all parts of the main roof (i haven't finished the bridge yet) with both normal chest storage items and sheet metal. its also taking ages to find items (it seems to almost pause at the chest for a bit).
As i'm still fairly early game i haven't done any patching and alot of the junk still exists waiting on better tools. the minion in question is set to auto acquisition of targets.
Does anyone else have this issue or know how to stop it? Not only is the minion painfully slow at doing anything it is wasting most of its power on this error

Hi! We will continue to improve minions. Right now we are testing new navigation system that might fix the problem.

Is this still being tweaked? My minion won’t do anything, or he does it once then gives up. Has a ? On the top of his head constantly. First I had him collecting stuff but that didn’t work very well so I then put him to refuel machines but he can’t seem to find them or does so randomly. They’re just on the first roof top and are easily accessible! There is plenty of biomass for it to refuel with too in designated chest.

Beginning to give up on them! But I can see how, down the line it is so much easier having them do the grunt work so you can disappear for a few days exploring and not have to worry about your stuff running out.
