Game Consistently crashes with texture error
I have been enjoying my time with this game so far but have been unable to make significant progress due to a hard crash that looks to be caused by this error:

D3D11: Failed to create RenderTexture (1920 x 1080 fmt 27 aa 1), error 0x887a0005
D3D11: Failed to create RenderTexture (1920 x 1080 fmt 19 aa 1), error 0x887a0005

this is the last thing logged with no extra stack trace every time. Does anyone have an explanation or solution for this?

AMD Ryzen 5 5600
AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT: 23.9.3
16 GB RAM

If it was corruption with and art asset I would expect a different error, but I would not rule it out, so reinstalling the game might be something to try.

Or it might be an out of date driver or driver corruption. Double check you have the latest driver; if so, you may want to download the latest driver installer, restart your system in safe boot, then delete and reinstall, then restart your system normally.
In super rare cases it can turn out to be a lose cable/connection with the GPU.

Also if you're using two monitors and somehow it's trying to do a resolution for a different one that the current can't handle.

Look into those and let us know if you have any questions!

I Have re-seated my gpu and re-installed the drivers, run several stress tests using MSI Kombustor (with and without artifact scanning), and even attempted to run it under linux proton. This previous option worked but I believe that to be due dxvk wizardry. This problem only appears while running this game.

I do wonder if it may simply be a bug with the version of DX and unity, or perhaps simply a new AMD driver bug?

Maybe, but it would be great if you could get in a support ticket with your logs so we could have a closer look. Those should be at:
C:/Users/YOUR USER FOLDER/AppData/Local/Temp/MonomiPark/SlimeRancher2/Crashes

Please submit a ticket here with your crash logs attached:
