I haven't tried it yet, but shouldn't you be able to automate food supply and plorts with accelerators and fans? I think I had read that somewhere. It's probably less ideal, but should do it's job, right?
there still isn't really much reason to leave out major QOL improvements that were already created in the first game. it's been 2.5 years or so of EA already? it's pretty reasonable at this point to expect the same framework from the prior game at this point since it's not exactly a short amount of development time, as well as assuming they stored the codes, they are still using the same or similar engine I believe so most of it should be able to be repurposed, or at least used to speed up the coding of it.
that said, you are right, this discussion does keep happening, and that by itself should just prove how dumb it is to leave out an already existing QOL improvement. a lot of people who play and enjoy this like the casual experience and growing their farm, and can easily get turned off by the game when it takes most of their time just to manage their farm, which is why the drones even existed in the first place.
I think it may be the last before 1.0, but not the actual last.
Because that is kind of where the story seems to be possibly going.
I'd guess mid to late 2026 based on previous updates and ranges.
