Missing resource deposits?

I've been checking a map of resources for this game and... well, almost none of them actually have anything where it's marked. Like, at all. Did 90% of the game's resource nodes get removed? Do they spawn randomly? What gives?

^ yeah same spots, same with the new areas which I noticed may have a faster respawn rate? Could be a coincidence since I've been all over the whole map today and resources have had lots of time to spawn. Side note, I've noticed that the portal leading into the labyrinth where the lava and shadow slimes spawn, down in the room at the bottom of the area, and all down the hallway, strange diamonds appear to have a high chance of spawning. I got 4 today in the labryinth, three of which were in that first area.

i guess that explains the painful amount of time it toke me to find something i wanted and not primidory oil or radiant ore in the 3 main islands today

Make sure you're looking where these items actually spawn.

Lava Dust is exclusively around the volcano
Deep Brine and Silky Sand are always on the coast -- Silky Sand appears in Starlight Strand and Ember Valley.
Slime Fossils are only in Powderfall Bluffs
Jellystone is mostly in Rainbow Fields
Wax and Honey are most abundant in Starlight Strand

It can spawn in any caves, but it's really rare. If you want a cheap and easy option, download the SR2E mod for its cheat menu. There are some treasure pods with Strange Diamonds if you havent opened them btw.

I'm currently trying to map out resources with the flag gadgets. But when I make the rounds again, some resource spawns seem to have disappeared.

I was attributing it to the labyrinth constantly being in flux, but several primordy oils have also gone missing. Not as in depleted, but as in there's nothing there anymore.

Is this a bug? Otherwise, what use are the flags?

can you give me a link to the resource map? i cant find any because google keeps giving me every single " interactive map " that conveniently doesnt have the areas where resources can spawn
