I think they should have either stayed truer to SR1, or abandoned SR1 and moved into something new and exciting. Instead we have Slime Rancher 1.5. Keep a lot of the old roots and explore new things that our player base may or may not want.
the ringtails produce so much they're at 40 plorts when the rest are at like 35
bc i feel like these criticisms make perfect sense as its in early access so they can hear fan feedback as they are developing the game
More places to explore, more things to find, More QOL features, overall streamlining SR1 and making it bigger.
A few problems i have is that there arent enough mobility options for how big they want the game world, Im 20 hours in and dont have the 2 way portal to start exploring from the edge of the map, have to run all the way back when i want to.
Another is that they added extensions for the ranch ON the extensions, This wouldnt be a problem if i had access to the 2 way portal, but i dont, So if i want to get to one of these places i have to sprint for like 2 minutes to get there AND 2 minutes to get out.
The SR2 home ranch is more beautiful but way less practical.
Long story short, Give me the 2 way portal from SR1 and alot of my problems go away.
Edit: GIVE ME MY RADIATION SLIME BACK!
I still want to see the plots be expandable, now THAT would be huge improvement. But instead I'm sort of 'forced' to choose to either keep my slimes in their corrals, which feel very restrictive, or to have them roam free, which I don't like at all, because it's far too RNG in terms of what can happen.
I'm not too sure about the resource gathering being better or worse, though for me it does feel a bit less intuitive. I also don't like how the new areas - cave and such - feel so far away from each other. Why not have a farm with extensions that you can slowly upgrade? And why not have plots closer together (or have them be EXPANDABLE, really)?
No, for me the game feels far from being close to finished, it feels empty and it feels like the developer is trying to coast along on the success of part 1. There's hardly any innovation, and why not somehow tie it in a bit more with part 1, as in being able to visit your former ranch or something (and see it in ruins, I dunno).
I was so happy with SR1 and I played it so much in early access, but this game... meh. I played it, and now I'm waiting for it be finished.
So, we should play the game outside?
That sounds interesting.
