Early Access? Newbie To This Game Question
Still? I thought this was 2024 game then just saw steam and it says 2022? 2 years later and its still in early access? or has it been abandoned like so many other games I know? Are they still updating this game?

Yes. The recent update was ProntoMart. However, the big updates tend to come in six months approximately.

The next planned big update might be the introduction of the Grey Labyrinth, a new location with new Slimes and ressources to discover. It might come out in Autumn 2024...

Thanks. Hopefully after 2 years it comes out of early access

The only "real" content added since EA came out was the decently sized snow area. There was a weather update that really doesn't add much (a few rng events with their own visuals and soundtrack) and gadgets that no one cares about since you need money + a crazy amount of resources to craft them and they don't do anything interesting.

Latest update added a shop to spend some of your slime money (have fun selling tens of thousands of plorts by hand, there's no drones) and this thing :

granted their a small studio, there could be some more communication on progress of updates. Instead of dropping something medium and then going completely silent for some more months, rinse and repeat.

I remember playing satisfactory I tried to like that game but just couldnt get into it, In the end I found it boring. some games get abandoned in the end. I bought Slime Rancher 1 today as some forums said at least 1 is a finished game and 2 is still early access after 2 years. One person said they seem to have done everything and will have to wait for updates so Im gonna play slime rancher 1

I suspect that the either the update after the next major update, or the update after that will be the Release Update. So either summer of next year, or winter of next year.

Also, to the people saying that this game will be abandoned, reminder that Slime Rancher 1 was in Early Access for over a year and a half (January of 2016 through August of 2017), and Slime Rancher 2 is intended to be a larger game than SR1 in terms of both features and graphics. Obviously it's going to take longer to develop.

in an age of social media, this is it ^^^ id take any small updates or just hearing from the studio at all. Esp after being in early release for 2 years some communication on whats going on behind the scenes would really help

honestly all the updates over the past two years have given me hours of content, a MAJOR part of this game is decorating your ranch, so mess around, build a long machine that transport resources to nowhere (for me, i made a machine using fans, cannons, bouncing stuff off walls, all long my ranch just to make chickens fall in the ocean cause its kinda funny). or maybe go to a part of the ranch you dont use much (like for me, the beach area) and decorate it, you realize after doing this that you can get more out of the game from decorating, of course this is a grind, but both games have you grinding for resources (honestly prefer SR2's slime science compared to SR1. a tip from me is never sleep (even if you need money) since feeding slimes becomes more of a chore when doing other stuff, and then all of a sudden, you got 100k newbucks (i was at like 120k b4 new store update, and now i am down to 40k lol)
