yolky slimes are kinda not great tbh

(this is a rant tbh if you dont agree, thats fine, just understand i'm human and allowed to my own opinions and this is from my personal experience only being able to find one)

it took me a while to work up the courage to explore to the point of yolky slimes/saber slimes but i finally did it and.... saber slimes are a tad more frustrating to manage than they were in the og game iirc, and yolky slimes are.... not executed well. they're cute but thats the only thing they got going for em. they're RARER THAN GOLDEN SLIMES(which they should not be especially considering how fire and puddle slimes are way more abundant in this game and yolkys are basically a reskin of those anyhow)!

you have to look through literally like... the entire map for a minuscule chance at ONE(if you're lucky) and when you get em, the eggs/amount of plorts they produce from the eggs arent even worth it the wait and search. i'm only putting this up here in the hopes they maybe see this and see they do need to fix it cause rn yolkys are not great.

oh also the fences for the cages are all way too weak in this game. literally a feather falling breaks them. and they should make it to where you can plant honeydew necter. considering butterfly slimes need it, it makes no sense why you cant plant em

Fun add on, there's crafting recipes locked behind farming their plorts, or whatever it is they make because I've still not gotten one to find out. So yeah, there's that worrying precident that's been set. Imagine something more important than decos getting locked behind finding an ultra-rare slime like these yolks. Drones for example.

I found my first by vacuum accident 5 mins or so after the update. I was going for something else, saw it and heard "Wee pop" and had sucked it up. So one of the lucky ones I guess.

Took me a bit to figure out how to use them right, played around with it. In slime cage with other slimes and bunch of chickens, free farming, or in a chicken pen. They work best in the pen. Get an egg a day and if I'm on time within the first couple of hours (in game hours) of one popping up I get 5-6 plorts from it's smash. I have found that free range chickens outside of the pen as well as in the pen will make eggs from the eggy and.... that's about it.

They kinda aren't even like puddles. Course I haven't found a second one to see if there's a blushing effect and we don't have any toys yet. But the puddles are still cuter and more fun.. which is saying a lot cause they just puddle hehe

I must say that if they produce or help production of chickens I haven't noticed. That could be because of my meat-eaters section setup. I am happy they put in a golden CHIK3N Statue. It sit's on top of the cliffs Glowing down below with pride over the land xD

When you crack the egg 2-6 ckickadoo's of the hens that are in the coop (The yolky's don't actually produce the egg they just make the hen hen lay it and I assume it's whatever hen hen layed the egg is there multiple types of hen in one coop/free range area)|
So they "help" with chicken production but it's more a secondary effect rather than the main focus of the yolky slime

This is just anecdotal evidence, but I've noticed that the pen i have with the yolky in it makes a LOT more chickens than one without it. Like 30 a harvest! I never had that many in slime rancher 1

it's supposed to be a chicken booster, hence why its an egg, but idk. just doesnt feel worth it to have around if you cant get more than one per round and you have to spend however many in game days looking for it, being driven crazy by how many more lucky and golden slimes you encounter than yolky

yea, they dont function the same, but they are still reskins with not much good going for em. if you cant get multiple it's just more frustration than its worth, not to mention however many days you have to wait for the egg to form to begin with and how little plorts you get from em. not saying more plorts it necessarily the answer, but getting more of them would be nice. maybe instead of just one per spawn after miserably hunting for in game days, it could be a random number per spawn

I have 4 yolky slimes. I just found the fourth one yesterday. You get one egg per yolky slime when they are with the chickens. It usually doesn't take very long to get another round of eggs once you crack the ones that are in there. But the hen hens won't lay more eggs until after you crack the ones that are there. As far as finding the yolky slimes, I haven't been looking for them at all, but I just grab them when I see them while I'm out doing other things.

I don't even grab them anymore, had too many in my pens.

I've never found more than two, and both are accidently founds. But I think, cause of their color they might be overseen easiely. (Found my second one in snow.)
