What's the best way to keep ringtails?
I haven't seen them yet but I hear they eat food even when not hungry. I'm a little apprehensive about using the autofeeder with them

since the chickens seem to spawn really quickly i just throw my extra chickens in the coral with them and call it good

i mixed them with pinks since they're both the hoover up everything type but didnt put them in a sun shielded cage so that they arent active during the day and can only eat from a slow feeder at night, also basic hens

Get the night time upgrade for the pen so they won't turn to stone during the day, and they spawn throughout the world. They turn to stone during the day, but don't worry they return to normal during night time. They have a mischievous look when they will continue to eat, but won't produce plorts.

they only spawn at night during the day they turn into rock also autofeeder is okay just mix with a vegetable or fruit slime and you'll get plenty of plort

I combined mine with Hunter slimes, have them in a pen and just throw a few veggies at them until they start making their sneaky face and i know they won't give anymore plorts

usually takes 3 veggies per slime for them to be full,

I combined them with Rock Slime and feed them Heartbeet through autofeeder ^^

When you mix with another slime they still have a favorite food, so it'd be better to not mix with pink

Both Pinks and Ringtails have no favorites.

That's exactly the point he was making. Pink is a poor choice to combine it with, as the resulting largo has no favorites. If you combine with something that does have a favorite, the resulting largo with then have a favorite which will yield double plorts.

For my Ringtails I Largo them with anything that has a fav food AND is non-aggressive; currently mine are with Honey slimes. I keep them in an enclosure that is either in the cave or has the night upgrade so they won't turn to stone. I keep 8 largos and feed them on the lowest setting with the auto feeder and they produce plorts pretty consistently, with one or two being very hungry when I check on them.

Basically, if you want to use the autofeeder (which I recommend), you want to have more slimes than the feeder can fully feed, so they are almost always hungry.

According to the Slimepedia, Batty slimes that are kept in the dark get hungrier a bit faster than other slimes, so Ringtail + Batty Largos might be worth considering.

I have a corral of 10 phosphor/ringtail largo with a medium set auto feeder and I reckon that works fine. Don't see them "smug face" or hungry that much, just tend to be normal happy.

Currently I am keeping just a few free range in the grassy area expansion, I might largo them with hunter slime I am not sure yet.

The main observatory has free range cotton / tabby slimes, and flutter / honey slimes.
The cave has free range crystal / batty slimes, and phosphor / angler slimes.

I have just only been keeping the ones I really like for now, at least until the drones become available sometime in a future update.

That's a smart idea! I was considering batty ringtails anyway because I think their largos look cute haha. Thank you
