If tarr is appearing on your ranch then there is a control issue, invest in pen upgrades and/or keep fewer largos in the pens.
On the PC I have noticed that the plorts and slimes don't despawn when you leave the area, thus there are an excess of plorts everywhere so tarr can happen really quickly at any time of day, and then don't despawn either. I had about 20 tarr blocking my path at one point due to this.
Not sure if it's a bug or just one of the game changes.
not to mention tars can just directly spawn naturally at night without any 3 slime fusion.
Most of the time when i reach a new section there are already tars waiting
Or, if that's a hassle and you travel through the area frequently, you can also place water turrets to do it for you.
If you hate it then turn it off.
Fortunately in this game you don't have to make a new save to enable/disable tarrs, it's right in the menu options at any time :)
I'm 90% positive that the containers still reset. I've found them over and over in little out-of-the-way caves in the first area. I wanna say 2-3 day timer or so.
