midas touch
kinda broken, doesnt seem to care what power or health the target has. Snowbeards just turn entire armies into gold doesnt matter what they are. Feels like it should follow other insta kill rules and maybe require a low health threshold for units because its supposed to be mainly about getting gold, not insta-killing dragons.

there are so many ways to really break this game that midas touch just feels like a feature. but as far as i have expierienced it midas touch chance gets lower the higher lvl the creature is that its targeting. but if my 100 goblins shoot at a dragon the chance can be 3% and the dragon will be turned to gold nevertheless.

Its true a lot of things are op but this one also seems easy to fix, and that other similar effects do specifically state its less effective against high power or require an hp threshold.
midas touch also seems broken? As often I see my own troops turned to gold upon death despite fighting enemies without that ability attached to them.

units with midas's touch also turn to gold on death, i think the natural ones do anyways, not ones who have it as an enchantment

The game (and the original HoMM for that matter) is filled with dozens and dozens of broken OP mechanics, and it's just about you trying to use something OP against the enemy who's also doing something OP. I would say midas touch is very very low on the list of things that are overpowered or broken considering it ultimately involves your troops fighting against the enemy troops. In all of my games I end up with 2-4 heroes who have no armies and just their entourage who can easily win against impossible ranked armies by themselves, assuming they have enough mana going into the fight, because I know which spells/skills are overpowered to give them. Midas touch allows your troops to occasionally get a 1 hit kill against 1 enemy troop at a time, meanwhile other characters are entering combat with just their entourage and nuking entire armies with spells. Often the late game isn't even about troops at all and just becomes a question of which hero is stronger, battles are decided by hero vs hero not whichever had the better troops in their army. So yeah I wouldn't feel guilty or worried at all about the fact you're getting huge value out of midas touch when other characters are using drown + healing rain to wipe out entire armies in a single spell.

You engaged the enemy? I just summoned independent legions of fire mobs that dragged their heroes down so my wizard didnt even have to engage them!
Just finished an academy game to play around with Summoning and yeah a lot of stuff is bonkers, summoning 150~ elementals in a single spell and just... being able to do that forever is bonkers. Was definitely able to win engagements with a tiny entourage and mass summons pretty early on. Never got Flood :( But Reap was doing 8000~ damage every few seconds so that was fun to watch.
