Distros will often end up deprecating the library you need for a specific title, so until you retrieve it manually you won't be able to launch.
If you use the terminal to launch it, you should see the error that shows what's missing.
Or you can use Proton and launch the windows version to save on the headache in that regard.
I haven't seen a library manager for linux that manages native titles, but that would be an awesome tool to have to keep Linux versions of games running on updated distros.
I'll give it a go. I just think it's wonky-bananas and I know I am not the only one in that regard. Every proton version I tried, from top to bottom didn't work. I just don't understand why this game (when all of the other Goblinz titles I have) cannot seemingly run on any of the desktop distros I have tried. Especially when I switched to "The(!)" distro in support of my wonky monitors and stupid graphics card (Nvidia). This was one of my desert island games, along with Curious Expedition and Wind and the Wilting Blossom. So it really bums me out when I can't play it. I just kinda switch to Heroes 2, as it fills the niche. But it doesn't fill my monkey brain dumb-dumb automation needs. Thanks for the suggestion. I really hope the dev fixes this. I am not sure what it'd take, but I can't imagine it'd take very much.
Thanks again, sweet one! Really put a smile on my face to get a nice response.
*Gave it a go a handful of times. No dice. Same issue, although for a brief second I saw it flash into existence. Oh well, it was worth the try =)
