Suggested starting maps?
Long time HoMM/etc player, and what I've played of Hero's Hour I'm loving from a gameplay perspective, and I've had a lot of fun with the tutorial and the bit I've dipped my toes into so far.

I'm realizing though that without a campaign structure I'm having a lot of trouble approaching where to start properly playing it. I know it's not That Kind Of Game and I'm actually looking forward to something I can pick up and play a little more casually, but I don't know where to start with picking maps! I played Duel and it was very basic (didn't even get to explore half the map before I won), and I'm not sure what's going to be a good series of starter maps.

My favorite HoMM is V, I tend to like the more gimmick/puzzle focused style maps, but I just don't know where to begin with this list! What are some of your favorites? Any size or complexity is fine -- I'd be happy to play one of the larger maps. I've also been playing random factions to get used to it, and factions in general aren't the biggest draw of these games for me, but if there's one you think I shouldn't overlook, let me know that too. Thanks!

There aren't really any gimmick/puzzle to the maps since its all skirmish maps basically, really the only decision is how long a game you want and if you want to mess with ships or not. Typically I go for the 10 cities one, I like the longer games

There is a custom map editor to make your own maps, but it seems buggy. I had it crash on me a couple times. Also there is no tutorial on how to use it.

I wanted to know this answer as well. I was just going to start off playing the same size of map as the tutorial but I'm not sure how big that was

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
