A tip for finding them as castle mentioned is follow the white line, but I would also say keep your eye on the shovel at all times as you move you don't need to scout all white lines as they just lead to the general direction of the pearl, also when the floating pearl is closest to your hero then moves away that is the direction you need to head.
If you want a recommendation on what to spend the pearls on I would recommend the cannons and make sure they are upgraded, otherwise I would choose based on what your heros mastery is or strategy (assuming they have the skill) tides melee units early game much like pyre are not the strongest, they excel in ranged combat though so I normally use melee units to tank for the cannons.
Cannons are good because they do aoe damage and have high damage compared to other range units, a little slower to fire though so they need a little time to let loose which is why you need tanks to screen for them but they decimate grouped up enemy's and tend to win vs other range units of their teir and even higher at times.
The other alternative is sirens who are also fairly good range attackers not as good as cannons in terms of damage but there skills put them on par if not better in some circumstances. When upgraded they get the charm ability, which turns low health units to your side of the battle + they have the ability to confuse enemy's.
If you have any further questions about tide I would be happy to answer them they are my favourite faction and the one I do best with on the hardest settings.
The floating pearl moves back and forth either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. I scouted all the points indicated by white lines but no luck. Could the pearl be outside of the area indicated by white lines?
Ok, thanks for the tips.
I played three heroes from this faction and found them pretty good. I am wondering how you play Kylianne. I played another hero from another faction and I heavily invested in Leadership. I beat the game with that hero. I was wondering how you play this hero.
As for kylianne I view her as a support hero rather than a main hero, she lacks the skills that a offensive mage would have and also lacks the skills that a warrior would have for her troops, If you fully intend to have her as the main hero the siren skill into fire dance and pearl crown are mandatory. under bodyguards, diplomacy if you have the money to spare is good for hiring after battle and banditry gives a weekly fight for money/xp also gives bandits as units like mastery does.
You could go logistics into mercurial as well if you wanted to have a army growing passively. Only down side to that is, it costs mercury every day, the good thing is as you invest points into that skill it gives more mercurial units for the same price.
But shes best played with another hero bodyguards scale in power the more points you put into it and the larger the army of another hero is, so if you have a main hero with a huge army then she would get a free large army (capped at the skill level)
Also which heros did you play for tide? I am curious.
Oh, so you don't recommend investing in leadership? Thanks for the tips anyway.
Do you by free army mean her bodyguards?
I played Neplata a long time ago. I also played Kop Laka and Geo Kama too. I am planning to play Tal Anak or Uptala in my next game.
Tal anak is my favourite hero I already mentioned how good cannons where for tide and he has a mastery of them, as well as being a very powerful spell caster with all the options he has.
Then I went 2 points into logistics the increased movement lets you move across the map very quickly I find it helps with pearl hunting to (this matters more on larger maps not small ones like duel) I follow that up with the sub skill mercurial this grants 4 mercurial units a day at the cost of 1 mercury (upgraded once becomes 6 for 1) so make sure you have the mercury mine for that. Mercurials them self's are not the strongest units but you can use them to soak up damage for your range units + other than buildings and one specific unit tide does not make heavy use of mercury like decay so this is a way to use it.
I go in to siren 2 to unlock pearl crown sub skill for the stats, after that I hard focus leadership and Bodyguards, leadership first picking up persistence sub skill and getting leadership up to 3 (you may have to pick another sub skill to get it to 3 not sure what to pick honestly), then I swap to bodyguards 2 and acquire banditry, after that it's up to you.
All of this ensures you are getting units from Fire dance banditry and mercurial all the time to use as cannon fodder troops, while you build up your normal army with leadership, pearls and improving your stats.
Shes not a true swarm hero in my eyes and not the strongest tide has to offer but I like her much like bonehead.
