Anyone know why I cant dig?
Yeah, the buttons greyed out. I'm sure its some kind of timer or something but I dont know what it is.

You can only dig in specific place using hints system. No random digging like in Kings Bounty series.

The achievement is for finding the treasure with only one clue, not zero clues.

I've actually gotten the achievement. It is possible. Unlike HOMAM, the game doesn't even let you dig unless you're standing in the right spot.

That's not entirely true. I got the dig button activated without result. But you can get the achievement. Just dig around the suspected spot.
