Hi,
We're sorry you didn't find it intuitive.
It's an action adventure game. You can expect logic puzzles, exploration,... to play solo or in 2-player co-op mode.
Thanks for your interest.
I wish steam would also overhaul the genre labeling because most games on steam are mislabeled as being genres that they are not. The search feature has become absolutely worthless because of this.
Those are just a few issues that will help something like Epic improve as an alternative. Nothing like competition to keep everything fun.
Putting aside that there is no narrow definition of what Trek is, you wouldn't know given you haven't played it.
Rather ironic, given the makers of Bridge Commander broke their Star Trek licence and sued Paramount for running Trek into the ground just a year after its release. If enough consumers wanted games like that, they'd have kept making them.
Plenty of people didn't like the direction of DS9, Voyager or Enterprise either, which is why they abandoned Trek in droves. A franchise will never please everybody with each instalment. Complaining about a game you haven't played from a series you aren't interested in seems rather bizarre.
100% with you mate.
But Prodigy is actually one of the better shows, this must have been some generic Nickelodeon cartoon concept that last minute got the Star Trek Label slapped onto it, throw a cameo Trek actor in there and a Starfleet Ship (with very JJ Abrams Kelvin Verse looking nacelles) and a few references.
BUT that means they had an actual story, actual characters with development and a story to tell before the Star Trek label ever got slapped onto it for money reasons, which makes this one of the best shows (although targeted at kids) since Less Moonves (a man who hated Science Fiction, never liked Star Trek, hated Rick Berman and always fought with him over every little detail, eventually just fired him and in consequence ENT was shut down. Doug Drexler who worked on both shows said that ENT had better ratings at the time than BSG and was only shut down because Rick Berman got fired, becuase Moonves and Berman hated each other... so Berman was eventually simply fired, Showrunner gone, Show gone.
You can disregard any Internet Myths about the ratings being too low or the audience having no interest in Star Trek anymore, the show was doing well and could easily have done 7 Seasons if it was not for splitting the Star Trek rights between CBS and Paramount after the Viacom split.
And ultimately Moonves got fired over Me Too claims by CBS, which very strategically popped up when the CBS/Paramount remerger was about to happen and he needed to go to make that happen but he handed Alex Kurtzman (budget JJ Abrams who never understood the appeal of Star Trek and keeps yapping about Game of Thrones) a 5 year do-what-you-want-with-it-contract to get his new, by now defunct, CBS All Access streaming service some content (funded by Netflix, Amazon and Ban Dai deals) ...with a build in fan base.
...i'm actually watching this Prodigiy show (very very casually) and am somewhat interested in what they are doing with this game. But not 49.99€ interested... not in this economy.
It is weird when the cartoons are more true to the real spirit of Star Trek than the expensive live action shows and i include Lower Decks in that statement, even when the humor and characters are a bit more hit and miss over there.
Though it looking nothing at all like Star Trek and as above pointed out, Star Trek having lost much of its fans due to other media.. ya it's not to much a surprise.
