Game is misrepresenting features. steam claims "Online Coop" but that isnt a feature. The online doesnt work either. we tried quick joining, using the online lobby id, joining the same region and trying both. nothing worked. there is no invite or join button on steam. if i just wanted to play the first game. i would just play that instead of buying 2 copies of this. **Refunded**

The spin-off/sequel to 2020's Red Wings: Aces of the Sky brings a little more content to the table while still maintaining simplistic, fun, and easy to learn arcade air combat action.

The game pretty much retains all of the previous game's content whilst forgoing the British/German campaigns from the first game for a 30 mission campaign centered around the American volunteer pilots of the Lafayette Escridille, with a few new appropriate planes to boot.
The title also introduces online multiplayer and co-op which is really the main selling point, it's alright as a single player title but you get more out of it if you have a friend to play with.
All of the previous game's planes can only be used outside of the campaign though, giving them very limited use and the local and online gamemodes are kinda lacking with really only deathmatch and last man standing. It would be nice to see more customizable matches with more planes in the sky, and more unique gamemodes. The zeppelin battles in the campaign are great fun and those would be great in multiplayer.

Overall, the game is a steal on sale with great gameplay and visuals but kinda lacking in content, would love to see updates to this title.

Online multiplayer is completely broken. Cannot join other players matches nor can they join mine.

Underrated title, a dogfight first world war game with, different types of missions, an american comic style story and clean graphics, you can play co-op and even online but with the singleplayer mode is enough for me to recommend it, on sale is very cheap. I even bought the DLC skins.

This is a fun little game if you play in co-op. Playing as a world war 1 fighter pilot, backing up your friend and watching each other's back in the sky with some fun abilities is really fun and enjoyable.

Unfortunately, it's hard to recommend this game unless its on sale like it is now for launch. There just isn't a lot of worthwhile content outside of playing co-op. Singleplayer has different progression then co-op despite having the same exact levels, meaning you'll have to replay the same missions when you switch between them. The head-to-head multiplayer is pretty underwhelming too. There's no one playing online for it either. There's also no online co-op either despite what the game is advertising on the Steam page, which is a really bad oversight at best. This game also seems almost identical to their previous game: Red Wings - Aces of the Sky.

Even though I have various problems with this game, if you can get it for cheap and for co-op, it's a fun time, the abilities, sound design, music and general feel and combat for the planes ranges from good to great. I really enjoyed blasting down enemy planes. The game has a lot of variety in its singleplayer utilizing objectives and a score system to keep you coming back. But again, buy it only on sale and if you've got a buddy nearby to play with, otherwise I'd skip this one.

played the first game through Amazon Prime Games, really enjoyed it so i picked up the 2nd one. really great game, basically an expansion on the first game showcasing American pilots. The arcade style maintains but there are some new things like enemy toxic and shielded planes, a few new game mods like ramming the other planes. the story is alright and the comic style cinematics are not bad at all. the music is really good.

TLDR 8/10 its good.

It's very arcade like, which is great for me.
You don't run out of ammo. and to heal and refuel, you fly through floating balloons. You never have to land your plane or fly to the combat site. You start there. It's just arcadey shooting fun.

To hit the enemy, you aim exactly where they are. No accounting for speed or movement.
Controls are simple, but much better with a controller.
Gameplay is fun.

Great game for those who aren't too serious about their dog fighting.

You like Red Wings: Aces of the Sky and want some more? Here it is, pretty much the same game, same skills, new planes and new missions.

A lot more coherent than the original aces of the sky. Not nearly as frustrating and game play is good. Didn't seam to drag on forever and was mostly an enjoyable experience. Runs smooth and I didn't notice many bugs or glitches. There is not much depth to the game and I appreciate that it's simple and straight forward. The graphics and art style are pretty cool and unique. I waited to get this game on sale and I'm glad I did.

Fun game! I'm surprised it hasn't received more attention.
