Cannot recommend
I cannot recommend this game, at this point in its development.

I thought I was buying a game where I get to create a nice little city for some little peoples that wasn't focused on combat or conflict, where I could do some fun things to build a pretty and balanced city with everyone working together to make the place a pleasant town to live in. Instead, I got a game about gentrification and elevating the wealthy. The poor Peasants do not pay as much in taxes and have ugly homes without plumbing (not like you can give them access to it, when it becomes available for Commoners) so you are, when Commoners arrive and you can build an army, better-off press-ganging Peasants in to the military to send off on Quests and leaving just enough Peasants to run the dirty jobs (like farming) while maxing out your tax-income from Commoners, which are also more-densely housed.

The "romance" aspect of the game is merely just another framing to runs quests... Which are just resource-based. There is zero roleplaying involved. There is zero substance to the system. All it does is reinforce a goods-based economy of emotion (your worth is only as great as your material means)

Building the city is very samey, with little flavour or customization to how things look. With how housing placement works, as well, you need to build densely, as well, or else your workers will be too far from their job to be of any use.

Over-all, the game is "alright", but, for myself, it falls apart with the gentrification, lack of personality to the city and the complete lack of substance with the romance system.

Its totally ok if you tell that the game is not worth your time.

But - from my personal point of view - your analysis is full of devaluations.

Why are the Peasants homes "ugly"?
Why are they poor? Coz some have an outhouse for shi-tting in their garden ?
Why is farming a dirty job?

I guess it is necessary to put oneself back into these days - a few hundred years ago.

My grandfather refused to have a water closet, not coz he was too poor for plumbing, but he thought its useful for the garden.

You're right! Peasants cannot be the most poor of the population, as they pay lesser taxes than Commoners! HOW COULD I BE SO STUPID?

Obviously, Peasants are the richest of the population depicted.
