Deleted the castle blueprint this morning, and decided to try and just build the main hall and quarters, and my fablings built that. Problem is, the castle grounds now have holes where I wanted to build, as though the game thinks there are buildings there, so I can't re-layout the design I had before without including the holes in the floor. I may have to start the game over. Built roads over the holes, and the roads worked, but when I deleted the roads, I still could not put castle courtyard down there.
So, lesson for the future: build the castle SLOWLY. One building at a time.
As a tip, Ramone's engagement severely saps your Happiness, and requires you keep it high (80, and then 90, or above) so you'll need your bank to adjust your taxes, and the Ministry of Parks and Culture to increase all your buildings beauty. A high amount of coins is good, as you'll be losing on your taxes.
Create vineyards and Jam makers early, fully staff your Feast Hall, so you can make Feast supplies. That takes the longest to get to the marriage quest, IMO.
Hope this helps a little.
