GPU still going bezerk, even on low, windowed settings and crashes after a while.
My laptop has a nVidia RTX 2060 and it's still going crazy, even on lowest settings and everything off, windowed 1280x800. It already starts at the welcome screen, the fans are kicking in like crazy. Even on those low settings the GPU load is at 95-99% and the temperature is 85 degrees. The CPU load is at 30-40% in the game, but temps are really high too. In the welcome screen the CPU load is 50% an the temp much higher than in the game, well in the 90's, while in the game it's in the higher 80's.

Len's Island for example (I guess graphically about the same demand) has a load of 26-35% on the GPU and 10-30% on the CPU with the same low settings and resolution. The GPU temperature doesn't reach 60 degrees and the CPU stays nicely under the 75 degrees. To reach the same crazy load on the GPU and those GPU/CPU temperatures, I need to run full screen on 1920x1280 and put everything on Ultra and even then the GPU or CPU isn't overheating at all, since the temperatures are lower, while the load is about the same.

The laptop I'm using is a workstation with an 8 core i7-10875H, 32Gb of RAM, 1Tb and 512Gb SSD's and the RTX 2060 with 6Gb. I'm an illustrator and online art teacher, doing quite a lot of video editing on the laptop and demanding art applications (way beyond photoshop) and it's always staying with acceptable ranges. Once in a while I like to do some gaming on it, don't mind low settings if that kicks down the fan noise.

For now I guess no more Fabledom on it until this issue can be resolved. The game shouldn't behave like this on low settings, turning my laptop into a toaster. The crash (can't even remember the last time my laptop crashed) has me worried of trying it again.

One thing I will try is running it on another laptop. That's not near these specs at all, but a 15 watt low powered laptop, but it's brand new, but has an AMD APU (Ryzen 7 7730u), not the best for gaming. Who knows what that brings though.... going to try now.

I was having the same issue, I'm just not going to play until they fix this. Sounds like something is going super wrong on their end and I can no longer trust running this game.

Are they doing some secret data or bitcoin mining while we're playing? Just kidding of course :steamsalty:

As suggested by the developers I've capped the framerate at 60fps and that has definitely stopped the overheating.

It's being worked on, but in the meantime please use the feedback form in the game so the team can review how the game is interacting with your hardware configuration. They have a meeting with Unity to troubleshoot the issue this coming week I believe. The more data they have, the better.

Running a Ryzen 9 5950x & 3090ti here, and even on low settings / capping the framerate - this game is absolutely hammering my PC.
It's a shame because I'm three hours into playing and I'm loving it so far.

I just meant I don't want it to ruin my PC somehow by overheating lol

i was able to stop mine from shutting off using the "background application max frame rate" setting in the nvidia control panel.

I set it to 60fps. FOR the specific game fabledom.exe

I’ll try that too. I’ve limited the overall frame rate and that already worked. Perhaps capping the background application max frame rate only works too.

Just take time to read around and found a sticky post regarding GPU issue... I used the half V-Sync and it get much better for me, Thanks Dev and keep up the good work!
...
Same here with a RTX 4090, GPU goes mad and fan start kicking in like crazy. I also tried to play around with graphics setting but did not get something coherent, I hope this get fixed soon because I really enjoy this game!
