Where are my weapons?

I have my resources disappearing for no reason. When it comes to food and building materials, it's difficult to track, as there's always something going on, but as for weapons it should be straightforward. I've completed a mission where I've received 20 armaments and immediately started training archers and swordsmen - after I clicked on 3 units, I couldn't build fourth one. Each unit uses 5 armaments, and yet after building 3 units, my armaments were down from 20 to just 1. What is going on with the resources in this game? I kind of defeats the purpose if you try to accumulate some resources but they randomly disappear.
