Wood cutters not working at their designated area?
Hi, I have 2 wood cutting camps, opposite sides of the map. They both are close to stockpiles accepting wood.

I have worker A, supposed to be working at woodcutting camp A. Plenty trees available, ready to be cut. But I have to watch with despair as my worker A walks all the way to wood cutting camp B and cut trees here, walking back to store the wood in camp A, being painfully inefficient walking through the entire map, even tho he is supposed to work at the other spot, and he has as much trees over there.

I don't know what to do. Are all the wood cutters sharing every wood cutting zones, regardless of where they are supposed to work? I'm trying to figure that one out, because it becomes very frustrating trying to optimize movements only to see that kind of stuff happen.

Thanks for your help!

Had this happen all the time, woodcutters would go home to eat then hit another wood area. I got around it by putting the wood areas near each other. OR alternate. Such as have two of the wood cutting buildings on next to each other and then turn those off and the other set on while it regrows. Not great with storage. When my city got bigger I ignored it and just let it fly having them wander

This is frustrating - I put a woodcutter in an area I'm wanting to clear out, and they go and work anywhere at other camps instead. I want to build in the new area, and don't want to lose the wood that's there by just building instead of cutting it down first. It would be nice if there was a way to toggle between allowing them to work at any camp, or only at their own camp.

This will never get fixed. Game has been abandoned by the devs.

This is a bit weird, yes - basically the woodcutters will go to any camps not just the one they are assigned to.

I dealt with this by building some wood cutter camps just to increase the wood cutting area, and then I'd build a bunch of camps next to each other to hold workers. This meant that all the workers/wood was in one general location while the wood they cut down was spread out in a certain area.

I also built a storage building that was closer to my sawmills and charcoal plants that was just for wood.
