How do you level up your hero?

I've bought my whole map and don't seem to be getting world interaction spawns any more. My hero is stuck at level 2, but I need him to be level 3 for Farah.

How do I level him up more?

You can build the training grounds under military buildings and spawn NPCs for him to fight, or you can build the Mystic Mine and send him after the trolls when they spawn!

Outside quest gives XP. Or if you choose to romance the samurai Lady she gives you a training dummy that uses 4 fable people to slowly but permanently increase your hero xp.
