This is NOT a replacement for MZ, neither for the PC-based nor for the Console-Based MZ (Which are different and incompatible programs).
It is supposed to be the first product of a third line and programmed as an Unity plugin, not usable outside Unity.
Nintendo does similar things when they talk about consoles.
It's basically just "Yes this one is new, but please don't stop buying the last one" And then they come up with some kinda reasoning.
you are right on spot.
Yes, I remember.
It's a common strategy to get the store page up and running to garner interest in the product way before the software is anywhere near completion.
Store page says 2022, bit vague but I think early 2023 at the earliest.
I mean big reason for last two was it could run on phones, and computers, but first one sucked it wasn't optimized enough 2nd one is much better, but lacking features people been wanting for ages like console support, or more plug in support. Unity opens a huge freaking door for plugins, java was ok, but unity I got 3d render engine I use for my CG on my game ideas, and all my paid assets 100% unity compatible, with right plugins I can use that directly in game, then I got upgrade my licenses to "interactive" next time they go on sale if I do that though lol
Over years I got easy over 2 grand hell probably closer to 3 now of assets I use for renders that work in unity. That alone plus fact its got more comunity and plugin options means I am already put this on my wish list. Plus I hate Java, leanring python now next one will be c# debating it but honestly with this I might just do it, and take some classes in fall for it.
Granted it is better then peopel I seen do an amazing first release then go "ok what you want to see in next one?" Its like uh wait your not working on it now "Oh I got writers block so what do you want to see? And what you guys think, after that I will let you vote or suggest what is next for another 3 weeks before I start next update..." Oh oh I regret pledging any money to this...
It would be nice, but probably more chance of scientists turning round to us and saying:
"Yeah - actually... the moon IS made out of cheese."
