RIDE 5
How realistic are the physics in this game?
How do the physics compared to ride 4? Noticed there is now "realistic" setting in ride 5, how realistic are the physics?

I just started doing track riding in real life, so don't want to play something that will mentally train me to do weird things because it works in game when the reason it does is that the game is unrealistic.

In this game you will find many things that can be found outside. Since your question is whether it's really the same in the game as it is outside, I can only tell you that none of the games available will do that. The real question is what comes closest. GP Bikes is generally the closest thing to it in the end but that's just a game. Ride 5 has something similar to offer, but you won't get laid down so quickly in this game. Ride 5 is supposed to be fun even for inexperienced users, which is why the driving physics are not as strict as they actually are. When it comes to learning racing lines and then using them outside, I can tell you from my experience that it works.

yeah bikes act like they should, but... you're missing the feel of riding and that cannot be replicated, it's like real world fighter pilots playing DCS would for example, they struggle cause they're missing the feeling.

Honestly Ride 5 is fun game and just that a game, but if you love bikes give it ago for a couple hours, can always refund so nothing to loose by trying it.

Agreed, that's what i've written on my review, a game like this will be impossible to make but you can be close to.
If you want real feeling and physics go on the race track that's all :RIDE5heart:

I do go on the racetrack. But I am a beginner, and so I don't want to spend the winter subconsciously "training" in bad habits that seem like they work in the game, but would lead to disaster if I did it on the track.

Worried about overly forgiving game mechanics for doing things that would unsettle a real bike. Like harsh breaking or poor throttle control.

Yeah that's been my experience, playing ride 4 helped me a good deal when I started riding. Bought a trackday bike 3 months ago and gotten 10-12 trackdays in since then. The experience of reading the lines in the game helped.

Just worried I'm going to accidentally, without realizing it, train myself to do weird ♥♥♥♥ with the brakes or whatever, and then when a situation happens on the track I accidentally react by doing what works in the game and crash because it doesn't actually work in real life.
