What is time trial actually for?

Genuine question.

I play time trial forever I guess until I decide to stop. Then I gets some points/XP and a fastest lap score and so what? Is this supposed to be fun?

What have I achieved for doing so? I can see no reason for it being in the game?

Please assist me you I can.

Time trials is used to practice, figure out how to get faster, and to familiarize yourself with the track and bike. What I like about time trials is that you can use other peoples time trial ghosts to help get faster. Luckily we are rewarded doing time trials with the points, which the Devs did not have to incorporate in the game.

Ahh thanks now that all makes sense. I never thought of that. I thought it was a feature as opposed to a utility. Much appreciated

Where do I go to see that? What do I have to do?

RACE-->TIME TRIAL-->(select track)-->LEADERBOARD

Challenge ghosts it s really fun (best feature of the game for me) and you can learn a lot.

Time trial is very much the first game mode racing sims ever had with REVS, way back then.

Is a good tool to push the optimal setup for you/bike combo, to learn tracks in a casual manner, compare times with friends or everyone and just ride/drive endlessly.

It is my go to game mode at every new game that leans on the simulation aspects. Learning the mechanics and the tracks like a real life session would be. No track map, no hud guides, just you and the track.

Time trial is awesome, player ghosts and even your own ghost trying to beat your newest record. The leaderboards with others and the fun of just doing lap after lap getting better and going faster. Time trial is my most played game mode by far but it is also in preperation for online mode. It is all good modes in a balanced mix with variety, don't forget to check out all the editor stuff, you can make your own suit, helmet, bike graphics etc. Lots of fun to be had with that as well. You can also download other peoples created bikes, suits and helmets and they do show up in online racing when you do accept to share your design.

I use it to earn extra money while training and to adjust bike setups and yes you earn xp.
