Ride 5 vs Ride 4: Debunking the Myths and Facing the Backlash

If you're reading this post and you like racing and motorcycle games, don't believe the crybabies who are complaining about Ride 5.

In my opinion, Ride 5 is better than Ride 4 in every aspect.

The AI is better, the riding feel is much improved (reminds me of Rims Racing), the graphics are superior, the helmet view is the best ever implemented in any motorcycle game, and races can now have qualifying sessions.

The Race Editor is also very good and my favorite addition.

I simply don't get the whining...

If you didn't like it, keep playing Ride 4 and stop trashing 5. It's unfair to the developers.

Speaking of enjoyment, all the talk about realism doesn't make sense. What's important is the fun. For me, the game gives an incredibly enjoyable feeling of riding a bike. I ride bikes in real life... when I sit down to play, I just want to have fun...

P.S.: I'm passionate about racing games, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Automobilista 2, F1... It seems to me that many people in this niche feel the need to justify to themselves that a game must be extreme realistic to play, as if it's a very serious and adult thing, and they can't recognize that it's just a game.

I can't say much about Ride 4. But Ride 5?

The sound is abysmally bad, the feeling of speed is non-existent.

So the whole game is a sleeping pill.

The AI constantly trying to kill the player. They are tough as brick. They touch slightly will send the player flying. They never go down. They run off the track and will never get penalized. They suddenly appear at the back even the player left them far behind.
How is that better???
That is why AI in Ride 4 is the best. Much more forgiving and fair even on extreme difficulty settings.

I would like to say up front that I don't own Ride 4+5 and haven't even played any of the titles yet. I'm here because I've researched whether the game is for me: gameplay videos, reviews, forums, etc...

Now to my point. Dear thread opener. Nobody takes anyone seriously who:

1.) Labels players who have a different opinion with negative titles like "Cry Babys". Anyone who doesn't respect the opinion of others is not objective and anyone who isn't objective cannot be taken seriously because their assessment (of the game) is not from an objective perspective.

2.) It's not unfair to point out the negative points of a game. This helps both the developers to correct errors and players to make a purchase decision.

For me, these were points where I immediately knew I needed another source.

The gameplay videos 4k 60 FPS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItQVjm21o-c) show me that the graphics are on the level of the old F1 titles (F1 2016/17), just a little worse. The engine sound is bad, even embarrassing, and the cornering is not realistic (boring and slow). See a comparison video from reality (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Pqvm8_6RLE). These are reasons that speak against buying it, because I don't want to fall asleep while driving.

I preferred Ride 3 by a mile and I have them all..

Also I don't think this post is relevant at all because no one needs someones's 'opinion' on what is 'best' and deride others for their opinions and what others shouldn't post for heavens sake. And of course people will play the version they prefer anyway and don't need 'telling'

put AI on 120% drive a clean raceline und u will see the bots are nice to u too :D

*and the funny thing i think.. if u drive ♥♥♥♥♥♥ line bots do too... soo i think if bots ♥♥♥♥ up its a littlebit mirror of own riding xD :P *serious no joke .. . i thought this often if i m to late on breakpoint , more bots missing it more crashes and so on
if i ride clean i got some awesome overtakes and small battle with bots, that feel authentic

- ride around with the new Honda CBR 600 RR to see how absolutely bugged the rider stance/position is
- look at release date and notice that the developer absolutely doesn't care about the game and it's state

Ride 4 is easily better. I just spent the last 30 hours on Ride 5, switched back over to Ride 4 today, and it's night and day better. The bikes feel so much smoother and more responsive, ai is better, the bikes aren't over-shooting turns by 50 feet, graphics are better (or AT LEAST as good), the menus and home screens are better...

Just an observation I noticed today. Both are good, I just think Ride 4 is the best.

...right !!! the brake is powerfull , manageable , not too punitive ... and the floating effect when you brake violently is so good , I feel like Toprak when I play this game !! ;o)))))... and the tyre noise give lot of indications of a crash risk ... for me RIDE 5 is largelly better than RIDE 4 ( And I don't speak about the variation of the RPM with the lean !!! too exagerate on RIDE4 ... and for me still too present on RIDE 5 )
