weird glitch encounter?

Hey! I've been playing the game on and off for the past year (ish) and I seem to be encountering a glitch I've never had before.
I normally play the game windowed so I can have YouTube videos playing over the top of the corner of my screen, but today while playing my cursor kept shuddering and darting off to the corner of my screen.
At first I thought it could have been because of the extension I use in my browser for the YouTube affecting the game, so I closed my browser and put the game into full screen but it continued. I did check to see if it was an issue with my mouse, but it seems to be working entirely normally in everything else I do, including other steam games.
I got used to the shuddering and moved on and continued playing trying to ignore it, but it continued to get worse and worse.
It would occasionally calm down an the glitching would disappear, and it had gone for a while so, since I had just unlocked the elevator on my newer play though, I decided to start moving everything around and storing it away with hopes of making my layout for my reporters more efficient, but the glitch has gotten so bad that I can no longer drag the reporters from my inventory on to their desks to reassign them. Meaning I only have a handful of reporters actually at desks, making the game basically un-playable at this point.
The cursor still darts away to the corner of the screen but is now also highlighting all of my objects and attempting to moving them around, without me even clicking of dragging with my mouse. And again, my mouse is completely fine in all other programs I run.
I really enjoy this game, and am quite annoyed at this issue but I have no idea what to do or how to fix it, I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered this or if anyone knows a fix to it.

Thought I'd add - when looking through the News Tower - Report a bug or an issue discussion on here, I found someone else who seemed to be having the same or similar issues to me.
There account was Hamster Pirate, and they posted it on the 17th of Feb, 2024 stating:
"I cannot select anything. The cursor is flashing as is it's constantly deselecting anything I click on. I cant even quit the game because of this issue."
This sounds identical to the issue I am having, and is making the game up playable.
