Push / Pull Logistics?
I'm seeing slightly inconsistent behaviour with the logistics, which is leaving me a tad confused. Is it push (once someone is done with a production item, they give it to the next person who will use it down the pipeline) or pull (someone will go to fetch a production item they can work on)? Normally this doesn't matter much, but it does with pneumatic tubes that allow pushing but not pulling.

I've seen both happen but I'm not sure why it's sometimes one and sometimes the other. I'm *guessing* that if someone has no work currently available, then they'll push OR pull. But if they're busy, they carry on working and let resupply handle it? Except it doesn't always seem to work that way.

For example, I had a photographer walk in through the front door, put a photo into a tube that sends it the 3rd floor dark room. That technician worked on it, then carried it next door to repro. That technician worked on it, and then carried it next door to engraving. That technician worked on it, then put it in a tube back to a 1st floor assembler. Perfect.

However, I have a 6th floor advertiser produce an ad, and then do nothing with it, despite having a tube right next to them that would carry it down to the type setters. They just sat at their desk reading a newspaper. The poor typesetter had to walk up to fetch the ad themselves, which is a huge waste of time. I've also seen an editor walk up, move the ad from the sales desk to the pneumatic tube, walk down, move the add from the other end of the tube to a type setters desk, and then go back to reading the paper at his own seat. What going on here??

yes this had mostly to do with weird ai bugs.
Think we pushed a fix for most after you posted (Sorry for the late reply)
But if not will always have our eye on the employee ai and especially with tubes/elevators/dumbwaiters it has become a very difficult system.

Thanks for posting.
