How does the illustrator desk work?

Playing the beta, and I don't understand how the illustrator desk works? I have an illustrator but she does nothing, and I can't figure out how to assign any kind of work to her. The mayor is demanding illustrations, so please help!

When the stories come up you will see a tag that is specific to the illustrator.

The photographer and cartographer also add tags to the stories.

Usually it's a two step (or more) story.

i find those three new roles taking too long but lacking values.
I think those extra tags should double the value otherwise there is no point investing in those 3.

Very Interesting maybe your right and we should ad more value to them.
Strongly debating it now within the team :D this would mean we need to add an above gold tier likely.

I honestly think the new tags are quite valuable already especially photographer because gold tag and illustrator because of the better ads + fairly common silver tags.
Cartographer seems a bit less valuable than the other two but I also unlocked it last so maybe that's why.

I may be late to the party, but you could also just maybe double the specific tag this is producing or something like that.

Additionally I had a hard time understanding how to set up the illustrator just from the tutorial provided ingame as well, hence I was browsing the discussion here just now. Maybe in the illustrator tutorial a small sentence like "the tag will be added on the globe stories" would help immensly.
