Can printer belts go between floors?
I'm trying to add a 3rd page and having trouble making the printer belt go between two different floors. Any tips, or is this just not possible?

Update: I figured it out - the belt can go between floors but not directly between equipment on different floors.

I find its easier to just make one floor the printer floor for heat/noise reasons.

you can pull a conveyor belt from a module stop where you want to go down. Thenpull from the corner point up or down. That should work

restarted a new playthrough just doesn't feel naturally and got softlocked

no drag and drop option appears when I'm trying to connect the middle so the game just sits there

You need to put those page modules on conveyorbelts (Place them in between)

So your not soft locked but i see it can be unintuitive.

Noted

(From those corner points you can continue pullen though right?

You need to delete the left belt. You can only have one belt extending from a module, which is why you can't connect the input to the rest of the printer (and why drag and drop is no longer an option). Delete it and then drag from the input module to the middle module or vice versa.

Please make these belts able to be run between machines directly on different floors. I finally got this to work, but it's really unintuitive how it's supposed to go.
Part of what makes this unintuitive is that if there is anything in the way, the belt will appear unbuildable (red outline), but the game doesn't show what object(s) is blocking the build location. Now, this doesn't sound bad by itself, but the problem is there are some combinations of equipment that work fine if built "behind" one another (and they are available early in the game introduction so players probably will get used to building them "behind" each other) but that will block a belt if built "behind" it.

Example: I just got back into the game after a few months' hiatus and started a new game. So I'm relearning the game's systems. Early on you have Small Lamps and Air Vents available, and you can put the vents behind the lamps, no problem. Then, when I got to the part where you get the second Page Module and build the third floor, I was trying to run a belt through a ceiling/floor, and it wasn't working, and there was no indication why. I was scratching my head for a long time, wondering if there is a bug. It's only after experimented that I realized I had a vent in the wall behind where I was trying to run the belt. I moved the vent, and then could build the belt--but from a UI perspective, there was no hint leading me to that.

This is NOT a criticism of forbidding things to be built "behind" the belts, I'm OK with that design choice (I can see how it avoids other problems). My comment is more about the lack of discoverability regarding what object(s) is blocking the belt being built and/or not making it clear to a learning player that it is legal to build "behind" some objects but not others.

Same here, but even after removal of those things (lamp, air vent) the belt wasn't installable. The only possibility I found was to build it twice around the corner which is quite a bit space consuming. There was no way to lead it straight upwards, no matter how the units (page 3 + output) where placed. However, when I tried to move those, it happened often enough that all of a sudden both those machine parts moved together, as if in unity. But unconnected. :-/ I agree that some kind of feedback about what prohibits connection would be very useful.

Has anyone managed to build 6 modules across multiple floors? I can get belt to travel through multiple floors just not fit in 6 modules.
Oobie Feb 17 @ 11:57pm
Yes, I had 6 pages on two floors. It started on the left, going left, with the first two modules on the lower floor, then up and to the right into the rest of the modules.
