Did the stuttering and microstuttering issues get fixed yet?
Why only 500 playing too? Was hyped for the game but needed to get rid of that stuttering.

There's only 500 playing because the game is niche and came out weeks ago. Most people have finished/dropped it and have moved on to other games. I've finished several other games since I finished Returnal. Good game, but not something I'll continue playing now that I'm done with it.

I didn't have any stuttering on my 3070 Ti / Ryzen 9 5900X / 32 GB RAM.

Not sure how it fares on less powerful CPUs.

The game has stuttering but depending how strong PC you have, if you use a controller and how sensitive to stutters you are you may not notice any problem, see the game as unplayable and anything in between.
I personally play on a controller at 60fps and see the game as an improved console version.

You can watch some benchmarks with frame time graph or buy the game and refund it if you don't like the performance.

Still not fixed for me.
But who know if you will have the issue? some seems to be lucky enough and don't have it.

I think these stutters are specific to how close to an other room/door you are and also some specific spots in specific rooms.

1) Some rooms are stutter free around the center, but the more you get close to a door/other room/corner the more you have chances to trigger some stutter it seems for me. not pleasant... thinking about staying in the center while fighting...

2)Sometime, there is some specific spots in some rooms where i hate to fight because i know this specific place have like an "invisible wall of stutter" that you don't want to cross multiple time in the fight.

I have a 5800x, RTX 4090, 32GB and its on a GEN 4 M.2 and still stutters for me. I cant even turn the RT on as it's even worse.

That said, its a good Rogue-lite if you like that kind of thing and worth playing through. I am nearly to the secret ending.

Stutters are definitely less pronounced when you cap your framerate to 60 fps, at least for the campaign. Last update seems to have made them worse for me though, a shame. Tower dlc runs perfectly.

Most crashes and stuttering issues can be resolved by disabling the steam in-game overlay for Returnal. In the game properties in the steam library menu.

Mine runs perfectly fine.

After playing the campaign a lot in the last hours I have to say the stutters got significantly worse for me after the last update. I got used to traversal stutters but now there are many more in addition to them. I can't even spin the camera without triggering a stutter in most rooms. This is all with DLSS and 60 fps cap on a 5900x 3080ti system mind you.

This game is not moving in the right direction at all, why was version 1.0 better playable on my system than the newest build.

I have basically the same setup and the stutters and fps is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Most benchmarks I've found look similar to this one:
https://youtu.be/5pMp6CQ5ZXg

It has some traversal stutters but otherwise it's not that bad in my opinion. Not perfect but better than on a ps5. But if somebody is a 500Hz e-sport player then I can understand that this framerate and frame time can be unplayable.

Runs horribly for me.

RX 6650 XT at 1080p at lowest settings using XeSS to try and help. Doesn't help by capping at 60 FPS, nor 40, nor 30. It's the worst-running game I've ever played (sadly). (Using a 5700X CPU and SN850X NVMe SSD, too. 32GB of RAM.)

Did you activate Smart Access Memory and DOCP?

Not fixed, specially at high fps + ray-tracing, where are the devs? are they even trying to fix or at least improve this issue?
Habi Mar 29, 2023 @ 12:28pm
No

didn't they promise Digital Foundry that they were working on fixing the stuttering with regard to high fps gameplay? They even said that the devs told them DLSS Frame Gen was coming in a patch... and where is it? is the game abandoned already?
