Amazingly, I was just coming here to post something similar SDP.

If I may, I'll piggyback your thread and give a shout out to this video which solved my issues. From the sounds of your registry changes, they're very similar to the ones I made only on different keys; ones I added removed something called 'PowerMizer' from affecting latency.

I'll add that my main issue was random split-second drops in FPS that were really annoying, particularly in a game where movement is so rapid like in Returnal.

The secondary issue it solved (wasn't expecting it too) was it completely removed the audio pops and stutters I'd been hearing my entire time playing the game.

I'm glad you've solved your problems, but those are entirely different registry edits. Anyone else have experience with either of these?

Yeah but changing registries is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrifying and the slightest mistake will brick you.

I confirm - this fixed almost all issues for me, apart from lagging video cutscenes.

Which fix? Or did you apply both?

More placebo nonsense

Its a placebo nonsense like iDTecKt said.

The real problem is Culling at runtime. Its bad. the culling streaming, or occlusion Culling in Engine values, is set incorrectly. Im 100% sure this is the source of the Lag or performance hit. It believe that if the Devs fixed this, we can get 60 fps on any hardware.

You can go into Engine files, for the game. And test things. Add new definitions you can find in Unreal Engine documents online. Maybe you will get lucky. I did one day and got 60 fps. But only moving in a straight line. Moment you look any other direction it lags. Its Culling at Runtime. Its costs too high. Because its not set correctly.
