Well it should be. It's basically just the same as pausing the game. I don't understand how you see that as cheating.
So if i pause the game and go to sleep to play the next day (while leaving computer on) then i am according to you cheating the game?
You could copy your save and reload it if you die
I had a nasty crash earlier just as I was about to top my own high score.
This should be possible with an intermission room, which doesn't normally exist in a straightforward run, but is rather created ad hoc when you disconnect, so that you get to leave an empty room to start over the one you had to quit at when you decide to resume.
But the concerns about cheaters aren't misplaced. There will surely be lots of cheaters who will quit and replay every room over and over again until they get the best scores possible out of each room.
Survival time is counted during sleep, but no other problems have occurred so far.
