but yeah, always best to farm upgrades in biomes 1 and 2 before heading to 3. One of biomes 1 or 2 will have the astronaut figurine to buy so you can get an extra life from it,
People who just say "game ez" are people who lucked out on their early runs. You can literally go from dying in the first few rooms to getting the right gear and rolling through 3 acts and killing bosses on your first visit.
Once you have a handle on the core mechanics of the game (which doesn't take long), it's about having the luck to get a good layout.
The slower you go and the more exploring you do, the more "dice rolls" you get, as it were.
Not at all. It's more skill than luck, and learning the patterns of the bosses, tbh they're the easiest part of the game, compared to what players confront in some rooms (biome 5, I'm looking at you) they're a walk in the park.
I've been killed only once by Phrike, the first time I confronted it (and I never played Returnal on PS5, so I was absolutely clueless), then I never died to any boss at all, didn't matter if I completed all previous biomes, and now that I'm way more knowledgeable about the game I can just skip all biomes and make a run for a specific boss and kill it (the only thing really needed is some max integrity upgrading just in case). No need for revival artifacts or reconstructors.
Learning to move/jump/dodge + bosses patterns >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> any luck or lack of it.
You got good items and weapons and you simply dont know...Just check what you are saying. If you suddenly got bad luck and get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ weapons (like the rocket launcher firs srages) and useless accesories you will be death.
What you're refering to is "biomes".
You can go straight from biome 1 to the second or third.
But if you're struggling, I advise you complete biome 1 before going to the second or third (while skipping the boss).
Mostly to obtain the resins (health upgrade) and augments (health/protection/damage).
And no, the game isn't luck based...
I can start the run, go straight to biome 2 or 3 and complete it easily.
Luck help, but skill helps more.
No, I just got good (well... decent) at the game by learning how to play it instead of whining about bad luck.
You should try it sometimes, it's very satisfactory.
I'll unsub to this and kids like you can continue to fight lol
It's one of my favorite boss fights ever though. So cool looking. But Ive beaten him 3 or 4 times now and never died. I did watch a video where someone died on it like 6 times in a row and I am not exactly sure what I did differently then them.
I think prioritizing protection and having a decent long rang gun helps.
I don't think beating biome 2 is necessary, there's a not small chance that you will die there due to very hard to beat enemy spawns, like several severed brethren in one room, crabs, giant drones and so on.
Oh, I'm not saying anything regarding the bosses, and I don't disagree with you. The bosses themselves are not that hard compared to the ♥♥♥♥ RNG can dump in your lap.
My point is with regard to surviving the stages and even making it to the bosses - I just did a straight run through the first 3 biomes to pick up the second fragment I missed before, and dusted off the final boss with a level 11 sidearm, haha. But then I can also have a run where nothing comes up Milhouse, and I just want to quit.
I still maintain that success in Returnal is more heavily biased by luck than skill.
