Wont buy due to epic games services installed
Why are you making me download something for a service I am not using. Why would you put that in the steam release? Especially the fact that it ninja installs it without asking for permissions. I wont buy this game till its removed and its sad I was looking forward to it. Not anymore.

you can refuse to install EOS :
You'll not be able to coop, but the game is completly playable (solo) without it.

I think this is PC standard for games with online feature that are also available on EPIC.
This is to let people who bought the game on different stores to be able to play together.

Lot of misinformation out there on this one:

You can uninstall the Epic Online Support without effect to anything at all except you will be unable to play with Epic players.

It's Epic Online Services. Do you even know what it is?

You can prevent it from being installed at all. Go to steamlibrary\steamapps\common\returnal\returnal\binaries\win64\

Edit launcher.ini, set NoOperation to 1. Save. Uninstall it if it got uninstalled.

Or you can just uninstall it?

Just go into your Windows Settings > Apps > Installed Apps > Look for "Epic Online Services" and click uninstall.

The problem is that if you uninstall it, it will keep coming back up. But its a non issue if you change one flag in a file which prevents it from coming up again

I own the game and thats exactly what it did lmao? Auto installed, I could cancel or let it finish. If I let it finish, I can uninstall no problem. But the next time I boot up, the installation launcher pops up. Cycle continues, could cancel or let it install again.

Disabling a flag in one of the launcher files prevents it from ever appearing again so again, a non issue for me going forward.

What would I gain about lying? Literally nothing

Doesn't auto-install for me.

To me this whole deal seems blown way out of proportions compared to what it actually is. Its just an SDK for multiplayer coop. I mean elden ring is using something similar for anticheat, did people avoid playing that too?
